i doubt it bbc has too much power they operate almost as a sub government, they will lobby the USA and others to lobby the UK if they fear an attack by government, the BBC broadcasting in shithole countries is seen as a benefit to the USA for decades and now is a potential competitor to US owned Sky
Sky have sold for £30bn valuation based on the controlling share sale and it's profitable as a company partly due to the BBC. Sky do not want the BBC to become depndent on advertising all it would do is lower the advertising income through new competition from a hypothetical market dependent BBC. Rates would go through the floor, they have no interest in creating a competitior and benefit from the lack of market forces the BBC creates , a barrier of entry to any startup be it local or national.

go for it dude. i went through a period where i was drinking pretty much every day of the week, i would have the odd one or two days off but it started to affect my work so i pretty much locked myself away and watched a couple of episodes of the Sopranos every night to replace my drinking and it was like pressing the reset button. Still like to spurge out on drink now and again but i now know how to stop.
