China is more like 1984, people always mix these up.
The West is more like Brave New World
The books make the case, what he thought meant jack shit
Considering 1984 shows what life is like under communism and animal farm shows that once power is gained everyone becomes what they originally hated Idk. I think his work has been misconstrued by those who purposefully do it.
>Was writing about Communism
>Described western world
keks
because he loved jews
he's was dem socialist
GOLDSTEEEEIIIN!
Αnimal farm was written about you, ruskies, 1984 describes a perfect dictatorship that some countrys could gravitate towards in the future.
Socialism was an extremely popular ideology in the early 20th century, and because of demographics, wasn't a completely shit idea
What like the UK? We all thought China would be the leader in abusing human rights, well I say in about 5-10 years you will be required to have a microchip within the UK, and I will be swiftly outta here in a flash when that day comes
An accomplished INFP who understood human nature and society.
no such thing, INFPs live in fictional worlds
Fpbp
I'm an INFP 50% of the time and INTP 50% of the time.
We are natural born artists who see the pursuit of truth and the pursuit of beauty to be one in the same.
Well you have the easiest way there. You basically have a 2 party system and some regional wannabes. They can do pretty much whatever they want it some parts.
We have 7 party in our pairlament with only one being a regional power. They cant agree when they should have lunch nevermind ruling us. Thats why merkel pushes for direct rule from Brussel so hard.
This.
I'm ANFP and his books were so organic for me to understand its as if I wrote them myself.
>Considering 1984 shows what life is like under communism
Nope, it's about british totalitarianism, i swear no-one has actually ever read it.
>We have 7 party in our pairlament with only one being a regional power
Doesn't seem to be doing you much good though.
Because stupid people don't read Brave New World.
I have. the ending is great
Fucking this, why it's not as widely appreciated by western audiences is beyond me. I guess hearing the truth about yourself is less fun than hearing others put on trial for their delusions
I tried reading brave new world but all the weird names confused me. I watched the BBC miniseries instead. Its pretty good
american education
its not an American thing just a personal one. I can read fine its just keeping track of all these whimsical named characters confuses me. Its why I read science fiction because its less about characters.
>Ingsoc
>English Socialism
HMMMMMMM
How the fuck do names in a book confuse you? You can literally replace every name with another one and it will be the same book.
The only character who matters is John the Savage anyways. Sounds like you're just a bit dim. Fahrenheit 451 is probably more up your alley.g
opinions are like assholes - everybody has one
because leftists are very low IQ
pls come to the US
i love bong butts
they all seem similar so I had trouble remembering who was who
>the BBC is pretty good
kek
But the first couple chapters aren't even really about the characters. It's all about the world-building at first m8. That book is so fucking good at "show, don't tell".
The world building AND the character arc of John the Savage are what make that book special if you ask me. Masterfully done. Don't worry too much about the schmucks in the lab coat.
Well we used to have double that in the 20s
I’ve read animal farm 7 or so times. I’ve never gotten that conclusion from animal farm, or even 1984. If anything, Orwell uses both to describe the inevitable outcome of any society who yields their rights
Not all Brits smoke fags
>be socialist
>fight for socialism
>realize socialism is actually shit first hand
>write books about how socialism is
>write book about english socialist INGSOC party who uses fear of capitalists to justify their power grabs
>oh haha its not about REAL socialism.
It never fucking fails with you people.
>every Orwell discussion ends up with several yanks loudly and proudly claiming Orwell abandoned socialism
Christ. CHRIST. I fucking hate American posters sometimes. Obnoxious, idiotic fucking cretins. I always forget the majority of yank posters now are r/the_donald 12 year olds and literal boomers
He was loved because he wrote the best guide books.
The reason Brave New World isn't as publicly used as an insult as 1984 is because (((they))) don't want goyim to realize that they actively push hedonistic/libertine lifestyles to allow for control over people
I've read it. Paints a horrifying bleak picture of the world. And it makes me question things a little bit. Like when Winston is being tortured and the guy torturing him can espouse his ideas better than Winston ever could. Makes me wonder if we're Winston. That the Jews know our arguments, could argue them better than we, and still choose to reject them. But then I see how pitifully they push their agenda and how it basically requires idiots and it makes me feel better, and my conviction no longer wavers
based and redpilled
geeee why is this so familiar
Please o enlightened brit, with cctv cameras posted on the house he lived in, explain to us illiterate colonists how 1984 , animal farm, or road to wiggam pier explained the virtues of collectivist control of society from a strong central government.
ID LOVE TO HEAR IT.
>believing the Meyers brig
Fucking neck yourself
Orwell is purple pilled at best, which is why he’s publicly known.
This, really. 1984 can be argued as a warning against generic Authoritarian types but BNW has specific meaning.
Writers dont even understand their point half the time. Just retard savants that God speaks through
He was an ex-commie turned third position
This
2oth cnetury soi boi
here's a dude who fucks
>here's a dude who fucks
>man's worth is measured by his access to pussy
Pedestalize much?
reminder all pedos will push whatever agenda gets them more access to children.
Orwell wasn't a visiobary, he made no prophetic predictions, no, he did much more than that, he blew the whistle on what was already happening, 1984 didn't portray a potential dystopian future, it explained what was already happening.
It's Ameican slang for being good at something
Animal farm is about revolution...but a true revolution, where they end up creating the very same system they rebelled against.
1984 is about authoritarianism, and the dangers of extreme socialism, individuality has to die in order for socialism to thrive. We see this through Winston who dares to think for himself and...well we all know how that worked out.
Orwell is a great writer because of his ability to convey deep philosophical concepts in a manner that a child could understand.
Its not about British totalitarianism, its about totalitarianism in general.
Both Eurasia and Eastasia were also similarly totalitarian.
Hes one of the rare not retarded leftists.
Nigga how many characters are there? Like 10?
You must be seriously retarded.
Isn't it from that shitty sitcom? Oh yes, American culture I guess.
I read he lived his last years paranoid they were going to get him for spilling the beans.
It’s from Silicon Valley, the tv show, and more accurately described as “reddit slang”
Orwell was important because he was one of the few Western intellectuals who didn't believe in revolutionism as well as soviet communism. He also had a pretty "traditional" approach to patriotism and to the intellectual class in general. Insight like his is surprisingly rare, even though it's very obvious to me
Spilling the beans on what?
sit down leaf, your opinions, much like your country, is irrelevant.
He died poor, i do not think he cared if any one was coming after him.
What people don't understand is that western socialism has always been more extreme than eastern socialism.
Its so extreme it was never successful like eastern communism temporarily was.
The soviets acted reasonably compared to the wests socialists who were just raving totalitarian lunatics.
What we are starting to see in the west is the western socialists fruit if their scheming delaued beacuse of their clinicak retardation and unpopularity longer than the easts attempt.
Orwelk exposed that.
Its a future where there is no future and people go gradually extinct.
He’s a leftist, so yeah there is some baggage. The only thing the left can do is make a compelling critical analysis. Other than that, they can’t make an ideology to build a future on.
imagine getting detention in grade school for not letting other children touch you up at break times. top kek orwell. is this what goes on at those so called upper class schools in brittain.?
STOP ASSUMING MY LITERATURE SHITLORD!!!
Because they’ve never read either of them.
Visual vs. verbal learning. I'm the same way. I can sort and remember data far better if I hear it rather than see it.
Allegedly, we never get any evidence of that outside the Party’s official stances
This. Huxley's prediction was much more accurate than Orwell.
The lifestyle in 1984 is super exaggerated and is rather unrealistic.
In Brave New World however, people are controlled because they have willingly signed away all their rights and individuality, choosing the comfort of an eternal welfare state, distracting themselves with drugs and other materialistic or sensory degenerate pleasures.
This is what is happening right now. A meaningless lifestyle based on comfort and escapism. If we were to become a society like1984 it would brazen and blatant, in Brave New World it would be a slippery slope.
Orwell was old school socialist, before socialism mutated in to the shit show it is now. When it was about basic fairness. Not pandering to minorities. That shows in animal farm.
>unrealistic
until you experience it.
Not true
“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”
Sort of redpilled on Hitler and one of the foremost critics of communism and totalitarianism.
It wasn't even made clear if other countries actually existed, that was the whole genius of the book. The reader never knows what's true or not and is thus like an inhabitant of Airstrip Ome; devoid of information and thus unable to see what's true and false
Have you read even read 1984? I can't stand brainlets that call our society Orwellian and say that 1984 was a blueprint, both on the left and right.
Our society is nothing like that in 1984. ffs
No, the comparison to BMW is more accurate
It is though,
double speak?
Newsspeak?
Ten minutes of hate panel shows with booing leftards?
*BNW
Who?
Why do you fags insist on posting pictures of people without names as the filename
>The Party
>Eng-Soc
Government runs every facet of life, raises children to be more radical than the adults. Did we read the same book or am I retarded.
He’s right though
National socialism is still socialism
If Orwell lived long enough he'd have probably moderated further into a welfare liberal.
He was essentially the archetypical bleeding heart socialist that was more about sympathy than being a vindictive cunt.
The primary problem is that this kind of socialist is actually rare and Orwell gave the impression it isn't.
1984 is very accurate user visit the poor areas of your city? rubble, trash, dirty, etc but almost everyone has a smartphone, with social media telling them what to think which is just like those big brother images beaming into their living space.
aldous huxley, author of brave new world
Haha y-yea, n-nobody w-watching me!
t. Ultra brit cuck
I think to understand 1984 you need to read Kafka.
the big give away was when they made a show called big brother.
>Not just knowing enough shit to ID people
sad
There are elements from 1984 that are similar to our time, but overall our society is closer to BNW.
name calling - check
divide and rule tactics - check
>Its not about British totalitarianism, its about totalitarianism in general.
Ah yes, i agree as it pertains to the fiction, rather i meant to say that it was derived from Orwells' experiences of British Totalitarianism, which some of his short stories delve into a little.
The society in 1984 is a lot more nuanced than just muh CCTVs and muh poverty, it is about the state having COMPLETE control over the population. Half you niggers don't even live in the UK and if you actually do live in the UK and you think our government is in any way comparable to that in 1984 then you need to actually go outside instead of spending all day on Jow Forums
Why did the US win over the USSR? It is because certain people understood that pleasure is a much more effective tool of control than pain.
BNW is far more accurate to describe the modern day
1984 is quite generic in terms of the type of totalitarianism/authoritarianism is represents with a strongman leader, cult of personality around him, mass surveillance, censorship, etc.
While some elements of 1984 fit into the modern day, it is far closer to the world described in Brave New World.
