That was an excellent read. I just finished my first translation of the Qur'an, by M.A.S. Abdel Haleem. I learned a lot about Muhammad ibn Zachariya al Razi, and will certainly be looking into him more closely. I began a second translation, that of Hilali and Khan, and it is quite interesting to read the footnotes. I hadn't had any exposure to hadith (Bukhari and Mulim, mostly, and another one that slips my mind). Quite a different feel, and Haleem's seems pretty sterilized. Thanks again for the posts, user.
