What separates the Right from the Left is that while both have violent feelings towards each other the Left is the only side openly advocating for violence and revolution.

It was also someone who looked at a lot of the current Democrat leadership and found that all they were good for was driving people more to the right. They took it upon themselves to take out this faction of perceived radicals so that Dems could move back in a neoliberal direction and actually be able to win elections again in the future. The potential for this to sink Republican approval rates is a bonus.
