Depends on a lot of things, long term debt, assets that take long to liquidate as part of expenses (which work against earnings) bad market quarter, poor marketing, negative competition (like when INTEL partenrs with DELL to create purposefully shitty laptops that use AMD equipment, even when a well designed AMD computer will outperform an intel one at a cheaper pricepoint assuming you are a casual or slightly above casual gamer)
