If that x ray is legit then someone is going to fry for leaking it. At a glance though, it looks plausibly functional but your looking at most likely a cell phone screenshot of a poorly shot x ray to begin with.

The thing looks real. But is very hard to tell exactly how the circuit specifically functions from that x ray and photo. There are probably only a few hundred people in the US who are really experts at IED x ray interpretation... don't believe otherwise.

It does seem suspicious that none of the explosive devices detonated or even triggered to detonate but failed, from what I can see anyway. They clearly opened the packages in some of the cases before determining that it was a bomb and none of them exploded or triggered upon opening.

Someone was clearly comfortable enough to take multiple pictures of the device at a close distance after they received it.

Because footage of the courier leads back to the courier service which leads to a paper-trail that gets you to the culprit. Making finding those people HIGHLY relevant.

If there is no footage of the couriers, that means that the packages were planted simultaneously by people inside the target buildings.
