Great was my surprise (not really) to see scanned images of letters from TD addressed to Chinese customers assuring them that their accounts had been illegitimately charged one penny and that it would be promptly refunded

They were by far the most patient, polite, and pleasant people I had every dealt with.

You're lucky, a lot of call centres here try to stop you from having long and unproductive conversations with customers. But I still was able to have some amazing conversations with interesting people, at least once in a while (it almost made up for all the assholes)

I worked a call centre account for American credit card customers for a year and I noticed that different segments of the US population were either easier or more difficult to deal with.
