I was born in 1975, so the nineties were basically my teens and early twenties. One way I will say they were undoubtedly better than today was economically. By that, I mean that the average person was able to afford decent housing, car, etc. on a normal salary. For example, I graduated from college straight into a relatively low-level job that still allowed me to have my own apartment in a decent area and make payments on a new car. I wasn't constantly broke, either; still had discretionary money to go out with friends and take the occasional trip/vacation.

We were busy dreaming of a new millennium, the future (the 2000s) were just around the corner. Massive technological achievements were being made...

Why try to make the world a better place for people who don't deserve it? Only help your tribe, only your people. History rewards those who stick together.
That's what we learned from this massive Self-Check of the past two decades.
There was no Utopia coming. No messiah to take us to Heaven. Life is unfair. Good people die. You have to be a survivor. You have to be strong first before anything else.
