Some older-issue F-35s were removed from flight missions after new problems were discovered in the jet’s faulty fuel system. The news comes only a couple of weeks after the Pentagon grounded the entire F-35 fleet. The F-35s, which have accumulated more flight hours, will now be given detailed inspections, according to the Joint Program Office, which is the Pentagon-run management and acquisition body. In a vague statement, the JPO said “the analysis has identified two additional fuel supply tubes that require inspection.”
A spokesman for the agency, who confirmed the news to the Marine Corps Times, refused to tell an exact number of jets affected by the grounding order. However, one source close to the controversial program said that several dozen F-35s would be grounded if necessary.
“While the two additional fuel tubes have not failed, engineering data collected during the ongoing investigation established the requirement for a time-phased inspection based on engine flight hours,” the JPO told the Times. “The procedure to inspect and replace can be done by flight line maintenance without removing the engine.”
The revelation comes just half a month after the Pentagon decided to ground all F-35s worldwide. The decision was made on the back of the first crash involving an F-35B – the jet had crashed outside the Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station in South California but the pilot managed to eject and survived.

>ISIS LAUNCHES TWO ATTACKS IN EUPHRATES VALLEY UNDER COVER OF SAND STORM
ISIS fighters in the Euphrates Valley took advantage of a powerful storm that hit the region on October 25 and launched two attacks on several positions of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
During the first attack, ISIS fighters stormed several military positions in the SDF-held al-Tanka oil field north of the town of Gharanij. As a result, 15 US-backed fighters were killed and 4 vehicles of the SDF were destroyed.
Later, the terrorist group attacked 9 positions of the SDF north of the town of al-Shaafah and managed to reach the Syrian-Iraqi border. The ISIS-linked news agency Amaq said that 3 vehicles were destroyed by ISIS fighters with different anti-tank weapons in the course of this attack.
The SDF has not commented on the ISIS claims so far. However, local observers believe that US-backed forces managed to restore control of all positions because ISIS fighters usually withdraw after such attacks.
ISIS fighters have launched several similar attacks since the beginning of this month in an attempt to undermine the SDF influence in the region and force it to stop its military campaign in the Euphrates Valley. So far, this tactic has indeed led to a reduction of the SDF’s offensive actions in the area.

The US military deployed on Ramstein Air Base, Germany, has recently received its largest shipment of ordnance since the bombing of Yugoslavia.
According to an official statement on the website of the United States Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa, the 86th Munitions Squadron on Ramstein Air Base received approximately 100 containers with a variety of munitions rolled in October.
>“This is the largest shipment of its kind since Operation Allied Force, which took place in 1999,” Master Sgt. David Head, 86th MUNS Munitions Operations section chief said, referring to the 78-day Yugoslavia bombing campaign where aircraft flew 900 sorties. “The munitions that we received will be used for future theater operations and the evolving U.S. European Command presence.”
According to Master Sgt. Arthur Myrick, 86th MUNS munitions flight chief, the ordance would be used to support NATO’s European Deterrence Initiative (EDI) and augment the Air Force’s War Reserve Materiel in Europe.
>“We’re a major airlift hub for U.S. Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa, so our main job is to get munitions where they need to be on time,” he said. “These are real-world munitions to fulfill real-world objectives. That’s the reason we are downloading these things: to make sure we have the capability to move the fight forward if need be.“
