Lenin was, like Trotsky, closer to the idea of permanent revolution. Supporting foreign communist parties (Chinese, for example) in their struggle for power and liberation. Economically, Lenin was more of a pragmatist, accepting NEP when needed and not purging people with different ideas like Stalin. Stalin was in favor of command economy and socialism in one country concept, advocating abandoning other European or world CPs and focusing on strengthening USSR and waiting until european capitalist powers weaken themselves in their infighting. He was also a betrayer in a way because he signed the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact.

Communism doesn't take human nature into account. It would only work if every human was willing to work has hard as possible for the greater good and completely sacrifice their own self-interest. Capitalism is superior (at least for the people who choose to be productive) because individuals are free to reap the rewards of their success, or they can fail. All communism does, in practice, is enrich the elites at the expense of the commoners and they have the power of government to imprison or execute any dissidents (Read the book "The Trial of the Four").

No system is perfect, but free market capitalism is the best path to prosperity for the highest number of people.
