I hate that it's made this much money and people have such disposable amounts to spend on useless shit like this
But
That's some really cool art
Totally unique AI created "art" in it's image (Even if it did have a huge helping hand by a human

This is proof that fiat money is meaningless

Of course the AI sees itself as white

That's actually neat

Actually kind of cool.
It looks like the kind of cryptic shit an artist like Da vinci would leave half finished that was found hundreds of years later in some secret stash an extended member of his family hid away.

But they call everything an AI these days, including phone apps and search algorithms.

>"We fed the system with a data set of 15,000 portraits painted between the 14th century to the 20th," said collective member Hugo Caselles-Dupre.

scammed

But this is what an AI would need to make a painting
>Here are the images, can you create something like it?
>Poof here's your garbage art, that'll be $500K
It's not just going to come up with it on it's own, not yet anyway

How is that any different to an artist who browses museums in his spare time, or went to art-college?

""""""AI""""""

how is your post any different then sucking robot dick?

Nice argument, loser.

Of course it does. Skynet organized race war when?

This is what machine learning does though
They fed it thousands of images and it kept painting until it couldn't differentiate its painting from the works

Nvidia uses a similar system, they feed billions of images into their Saturn V supercomputer and the AI blows them up at 64x original size and then tries to paint over the gaps and the bad spots until it can't tell the difference
Then it does it again and again and again like thousands of times until it gets better at it

Then Nvidia packs that knowledge into an algorithm a few megabytes in size and ship it to all GPUs through every driver update. Then you turn on DLSS, and the tensor cores on the GPU do the AI work to fill in the gaps and provide solid AA and upscaling which can actually boost performance and look better.

It's the future, an early glimpse of it.

That's actually really damn cool. Cheers, user.

The thing is no programming is perfect, especially not the human written one that is the very foundation for the AI, and if there was any kind of error in the initial algorithm, then all following code will inherit the error, propagating it ad eternam because an AI cannot into self-introspection and improve its own coding, since AI cannot think for themselves. Its just a really fancy data compiler but is in the end really dumb, like an animal who can tell what a predator is but simply cannot see it on a complex background because its camouflage meld it in it.

looks more like a wojak with human complexion

Remember that collectors oftentimes invest money this way. This is an item of massive historical significance. It’s just not obvious yet.

Literally this
