He takes a very general view of things, which is fine. His grasp of geopolitics is pretty fucking bad, though. He tends to think everyone is always falling into a trap of "derangement" or "two movies" or "cognitive dissonance", when he really just isn't familiar with the nuance of many subjects so he goes for the low resolution view as "objective".

I work with this Gen Xer who is super redpilled on everything and the strangest / most interesting person I've ever met, can spend hours talking about philosophy, history, homesteading, the problems with dindus, yet for some reason his office is plastered with Dilbert comics like the most typical Boomer cubicle dad on the planet. I used to think it was some kind of mockery, but I've come to realize it's genuine affection for the character and his "boy oh boy people do stupid things in a corporate work environment!" schtick.

Scott Adams isn't really interested in politics, at least in the sense of policy and party strategy. Scott's interests lay in how we are all of us irrational creatures that follow emotional responses more than any kind of rational thought, and how the modern media is currently abusing that fact to manipulate everyone.

Scott Adams feeds the black pill that we are all of us NPCs, yeah, even you, but tries to provide the tools to rise above that kind of behavioral pattern.

the problem i have with scott is that he will disavow certain arguments or points of view if the optics are bad. and he will try to remain 'above reproach' by doing so at the behest of navigating the "meta", the "meta" being what most people believe, instead of what he actually believes or thinks etc.

he is correct to a certain extent, but you have to realize that continually tailoring what you do or don't say according to what CNN wants you to is a losing strategy. he let's stooges in the mainstream media completely dictate his behavior because they are what control public opinion. in the long run you have to cut through what CNN and the like want you to think everyone thinks, and assess what people ACTUALLY think. Of all people , you would think adams would understand this because this is what trump did to get elected.

yeah, he gets too glib and cutesy when breaking down the daily headlines on his stupid periscopes, and can also be disingenuous when his predictions were clearly wrong.
