Indo-Aryans are themselves a mix of Indo-European, Dravidian, and (some) Mongloid ancestry.
The term "Aryan" was coined in the Manusmriti, which is a text on Hindu laws written in 400 AD, which sought to criminalize and penalize miscegenation between Sanskrit speaking peoples (Aryans) and non-Sanskrit speaking people (Malech and Shudra).
Basically, inter-mixing occurred freely during the era from 1800 BCE - somewhere around 400 CE i.e. the Gupta period.
The Manusmriti basically set India back. creating the rigid varna (colour) system and putting everything on genetics and hereditary (basically Jow Forums-tier).
So the moment this rigid social system was introduced India entered a dark age, nothing was accomplished between the years of 400-900 A.D, except building a few temples.
Then the Muslims came into the subcontinent at 991 A.D., and guess what? They didn't care if you belonged to a warrior's house or a royal family, if you could fight, you can come to Islam and become one of them. Strict equality on the basis of ability, and they bloody fought. They conquered vast swathes of the Indian subcontinent, destroying temples, cities, and burning universities, except the Southern Indians, because the Southern Indians were able to keep off that caste division and themselves had experience fighting the North Indian "Aryans" for at least two millennia.
Anything substantial other than building mausoleums and streetshtting has been done by the Southerners who have more Dravidian influence in their genetics. The narrative of "Aryan=good, Dravidian=bad" that Indians have accepted is laughable the moment you begin comparing the South with the North.

"Purest" Aryans could be found in Hindu Brahmins in Kashmir, and Brahmins along the Gangetic plain since due to the prevented mixing their genetics have remained frozen since the Gupta period.
