I have no problem with my Empathy m8. I can easily tell when someone is sad or happy, even just from audio contact. I just don't feel as many emotions as my peers do. At least from my stand point.

Thinking and feeling are mutually beneficial, knowing which has dominance doesn't tell you much, its more about the absolute number in that case.
All thoughts which are operational on reality via action are predicated on a goal. Goals fundamentally stem from arbitrary emotional responses to stimuli.

The profile for each 'type' contains vague statements pertaining to generic personality traits and behavioral patterns that are found in every human to different extents. If you had someone take the test for the first time (AKA had no previous bias) and gave them a random result, they would find plenty of traits in the description that they could relate to themselves, and they would agree that the 'type' truly represents them.
It's self-serving because people will extrapolate the results onto their lives and tell themselves, "Oh, that's why I do x and y and think z, because I'm an INTP. It all makes sense now.". Similar to horoscopes, they'll use the broad and sweeping statements found in the test results to try and find excused for failures and explanations for success.
