Most of the posters on here don't realize that GOP voters in Alabama hated Luther Strange for two reasons:
1. He worked against the State of Alabama and with Obama against the state's strict immigration laws when he was Attorney General. What's more, he event went as far as to lobby for thousands of H2B visa holders to enter Alabama (mostly Salvadorians, Guatemalans, and Hondurans).
2. Strange had some quid pro quo deal with the former Governor who was in trouble for sleeping with his secretary.

McConnell spent millions on ads to derail the most conservative candidate, Mo Brooks. This lead to a void where Roy Moore took the majority of the conservatives' votes. Brooks will easily win in 2020.

Huntsville, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Auburn, or if you want to go all the way Mobile or Gulf Shores. Tuscaloosa and Auburn are college towns and everyone in the state considers going to either one a pilgrimage for their status as a fan.
