WHAT CAUSED THE CIVIL WAR?

WHAT CAUSED THE CIVIL WAR?

The north having a population 2:1 of the south, thus having the south's interests never represented.
Slavery was the big straw that broke the camel's back; without slavery, the biggest part of the South's economy wouldn't be viable.
The only reason why it was able to stand after the civil war was because many slaves that were unable to read and knew nothing else weren't sure what to do, so they decided to stay for a penny per day.
The reason the average southern man wanted to fight was to protect the Southern way of living.

Niggers

northern aggression

Jews

The secession of the southern states and the formation of The Confederacy and the attack on Fort Sumter. That was easy user.

economics and a quest for power

It starts out west between Kansas Missouri, I regard the seizure of Harper's Ferry by John Brown's terrorists as the start. Firing on Fort Sumter is the NPS official start to the organized war.

Shitposting

The second civil war will be caused by a meme that liberals take offense to. Checkem.

The argument over the expansion of slavery into new territories like Kansas and Nebraska.

Niggers and Jews

Tell us something we don’t know

Probably the jews

niggers

californian gold

The north needed niggers to work in the factories, the south had lots of niggers. The yankees didn't want to buy the niggers though, having to house them and feed them etc, they only wanted to lease them. So slavery had to go and that's how the war started.

debt
and without slavery the southern states would need to go further into debt so they rebelled

Northern Aggression.

>North / Yankees
= jews btw

The irreparable and eternal divide between people who believe in free, simple, family lives and people who believe in empire and imperial conquest. I believe Lee said that if the North won, the fate of the USA was sealed: we would be a conquering people, always hungry for more, an imperial, interventionalist nation that went abroad and murdered innocent people, which is exactly what we are.

This
Pluralistic democracy is a stupid idea that will always end in conflict

Taxes/bankers

>I yet believe that the maintenance of the rights and authority reserved to the states and to the people, not only are essential to the adjustment and balance of the general system, but the safeguard to the continuance of a free government. I consider it as the chief source of stability to our political system, whereas the consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it.
Robert E Lee

The north refused to let the south leave peacefully.

Slavery was the reason for secession.
Northern aggression was the reason for the war.

Dont let people tell you the two are one and the same. Secession and war are different events with different causes.

>Slavery was the big straw that broke the camel's back; without slavery, the biggest part of the South's economy wouldn't be viable.
The South's economy stayed exactly the same after slavery ended you fucking retard.
You've got it backwards. The federal government was financed by tariffs leveraged on the South. The North needed the South to prop up their economy and would've gone into debt without them.

This sums it up fairly well.

The South's love for niggers so much they radicalized to protect them.

The refusal of the south to accept that slavery wasn't going to last forever and they should have retired their farm equipment in West Africa or South America

Retard rednecks firing at federal vessels at Fort Sumter because they thought they should be exempt from paying taxes. Literally.

The real red pill is that it was mexico. The capitulation of mexico trained all the great civil war generals, it opened up the problem with slavery in voting, by questioning whether to give the south more voting powers because of the Missouri compromise it also opened up question of integration.

That the only possible way Lincoln could've won was the Democrat party exploding and the vote getting split? What does that prove exactly?

This right here desu

It’s ironic that the north attacked the south because they didn’t want to be slaves to the union

bibi ordered it

The North only mobilized after the South assaulted Federal Property

The North used their population advantage to push through a series of laws that explicitly and intentionally wounded the Southern economy.

The north at the time of the Civil War was effectively a crappier version of Europe, Southern States preferred to trade with Europeans because they provided higher quality goods at a lower cost and were not actively seeking to undermine their Authority like the Northern States. The North was upset about this and afraid of what it would mean to the long-term health of the Union (read: Nothern State dominance) and thus forced through the tariffs of Abominations.

Eventually The South was backed into a corner, economically. The Nullification Crisis occurred and South Carolina dictated that the Federal government did not have the authority to impose tariffs upon States. Eventually South Carolina seceded from the Union.

Conveniently left out of most retellings of the Civil War, Union forces invaded Fort Sumter and began to reconfigure its Weaponry to fire upon the town. Multiple shipments of men and weapons were turned away in the Bay as the Union attempted to man the fort with many multiples of the amount of people needed to hold it. In other words, they were planning to use it as a forward operating base.

Eventually the people of Charleston had enough and attacked Fort Sumter before the union could turn it into a forward operating base in the South's largest city and economic Powerhouse.

The Union almost instantly raised an army and Invaded Virginia, and Lincoln had the war he desired.

A crucial part of the war and a large reason for the Tariff of Abominations was to minimize the influence of European powers entering the war. Everything Lincoln did was calculated to ensure that the South was utterly destroyed and that the union would be dominated by Northern influence.

Fun fact: Contemporary historians who were alive during the period of the war do not mention slavery as a cause of the war.

always remember that west virginia wanted to send the niggers back to africa

Europe only wanted to trade with the South because of cheap cotton. Then they found out India could make it cheaper

Why they wanted to trade with the south is not really of much consequence. What is of consequence was that the South was choosing to send their goods to Europe instead of to the factories in the North, and Northern politicians saw this as a means through which their power could be undermined.

Except the South was trading just fine with the North up until the civil war. The North was buying agricultural products from the south and sending them to their textile mills among other things.
