Because when you try to make everyone equal, and provide insurance for everything which protects people from the consequences o f their bad decisions, they naturally make more bad decisions, and in particular, focus on their own pleasures rather than what God wants to happen.

And there are other things that don't match up between Jesus and socialism. Jesus is anti-egalitarian, making it clear that some are great and some are little. Some will be judged worthy, but most will be cast into hell and burnt up. He makes it clear that he is for classical justice rather than social justice: you are responsible for your actions, both good and bad. Etc.

And as for the U.S. during the Sexual Revolution: that's true, but you're describing the most socialist time in the U.S. The were also degenerate during the 1920s, which was the landfall of the first great successes of socialism in the U.S. (Wilson et. al.)
