i saw a car full of blacks slow down alongside this nerdy guy riding one and they hit him in the head with a glass bottle

It's for grown ass children who spent too much money on nigger drinks and jew phones and can't afford a car.

$1 to unlock. Typically 15 - 20c per minute thereafter. Somewhat hazardous. Your particular example along with a couple of others has a horribly irresponsible business model. What do you want to know?

They’re fun as fuck. I used them in San Diego and it was awesome riding around from the Midway down to the end of the hotel row. Spent like 9 bucks an hour and saved my feet miles.

>be fat american
too fat for soi scooter

They’re awesome. Until someone inevitably gets killed then they will be regulated to death and you won’t be able to ride them anywhere.

Checked.
Peak tech bubble. Startups just burning venture capital before filing chapter 11. Think of Shark Tank, but 9/10 ideas get funded no matter how stupid they are.

Lime and Bird typically dump the scooters in a town with little or no warning, and usually well before cities have regulations in place. This can and does end in the city confiscating all of the scooters, and then negotiations sometimes follow. The companies count on locals loving the damn things and pleading their case for them. Sometimes they win, sometimes they don't. Bird is the fastest company ever to reach 1B in valuation.

Lazy fuck, Walking is healthiest thing a person can do.

I live in Long Beach and sidewalk is full of these faggot scooters. It pisses me off.

They obviously track you and sell that data. What else?

It has happened. Regulations typically come after a city is caught completely unaware and the complaints start rolling in. Confiscations and cease and desist letters soon follow. Sometimes cities then develop regulations and allow companies to bid for participation. Lime will fucking sue if they lose a bid proposal :D

I can understand rentable bikes, but the scooter is inferior to both walking and biking in every single way. Why does this exist?

Eh, its just a bit of cheap fun. Bit dangerous if you go flying on those things without a helmet if you ask me. I guess you could use them to get around traffic.

they're made for short people

Because there is a market for it.

Requires no skill, has novelty factor, is fun. They usually decimate bike share usage when they come to town.

Homeless people will eventually steal them.

>be me
>Uber Driver
>Baltimore City
>downtown at 3AM
>nobody around
>hop on one and rode around
‘‘Twas fun.

I picked one up and smashed it on the ground when I was drunk last weekend

Pedestrians and cyclists have a lot of hate for these. They can be parked anywhere (in stupid cities with no regulations), block sidewalks, cause people to trip, etc. They pay contractors to recharge the batteries. Norfolk ganked 400 in a couple of days, impounded the damn things because the company showed up completely uninvited. The norm is to drop 500 or so in town overnight. You wake up - scooters.

Uber has their own, bikes as well. Get ready. Big boys playing now.

They are pretty fun to ride and the best way to get around if you live downtown (I live downtown Austin).

> $1 to unlock. Typically 15 - 20c per minute thereafter.

Total ripoff .. get yourself one on Amazon (pic related). I got 2, taking wifu on rides every night.

Example of typical ride:

Some towns (Hi California fags) are vicious in their slaying of scooters.

>i hurt myself riding this scooter that i decide to pay to ride ban scooters now
soys will be soys

do you put money in it and can you dump it wherever when done?

They're kinda neat I guess, I spent some time yesterday tooling around MSU on one of them for the keks. Probably won't do it again.

This is the first time I've ever seen these. Are you an advertiser?

Bring a handful of pebbles with you next time you go for a walk sit on a bench and enjoy the keks

Reading me wrong? I'm all for it, though not a Lime fan. Business practices.

>I spent some time yesterday tooling around MSU
lmao were you the fat manlet i saw on one of those yesterday?

You rent it via a phone app. You are encouraged to park responsibly but yeah nearly anything goes in practice.

>Reading me wrong?
no i just hate the fact that people who choose to rent and ride a bike will blame the company when they get hurt on the bike. it's not their fucking fault as long as the bike didn't mechanically fail

Not likely. I'm neither fat, nor a manlet.

It's a "bike share program" that's been popping up in bigger, and now small, cities. Like other anons said, you swipe your credit card to unlock them, then they charge you by the minute or something. Saw someone on facebook say they liked it because it's a form of socialism.

Smart idea if you live in a congested college town where it's too packed to bring a car, otherwise retarded

Gotcha. I agree.

being you must suck so fucking bad

They're probably pretty easy to steal and disable the gps/alarm built into it. Remove the brand name and you got yourself a $300 scooter for free.

Also waiting for some Jow Forumstard to hack them to forever unloc for free,, then they start getting snatched up

I love segies. Those look ace.
They would all get stolen, every single one within 3 days here.

>billion dollar start up tricking college commies into buying their service by telling them it's socialism
what stage of capitalism is this?

Attached: og pepe.png (1106x1012, 660K)

Dafug you talking about? Parking downtown sucks and so does walking 10 blocks to get lunch.
When I'm downtown for work, I'll pay 2 bucks to whip that gay shit to the China buffet, every time.
Fuck you, I'm not ashamed

In my city they have killed like 5-6 people, all nigs though

They, along with bikes can work well and provide a nice alternative in some cities and on campuses. They should not be dumped on a town. Regulations have to be in place and enforced for it to work long term. They have their place. Great for the "last mile" travel. Not without risk. Check birdgraveyard on twitter to see some accidents and a lot of hate by residents. Overall, they make more money than bikes and are probably here to stay. Novelty factor plus no effort = win.

I meant on instagram not twitter.
instagram.com/birdgraveyard/

Bird is the redemption arc for the Uber founder that got pushed out by a bunch of cunts for being “sexist”.

They seem to have replaced all those damn bikes.

Steak them all. Figure it out later. You’ve got all the bits. That’s how the varieties of scum would see it here. Once upon s time we could have things like that but not now. Nowhere urban anyway and only sonewhere rural until someone ‘urban’ finds out.

its easy to just push them over. i see that a lot. laying on the ground. obviously people get mad at being blocked and just knock them down.

lol. seen that before too.

Why aren't people stealing them and gutting them for the components? Surely it can't be too hard to disable the gps.

we arent quite in the bladerunner dystopia yet

Probably something like 75% of the bikes that appeared in San Diego a few months ago are gone

they only "work" if they're publicly owned

otherwise it's just's a couple of rich assholes making bank off the people riding their bikes and scooters, meanwhile selling their data to other companies and the government to contribute to the profiles being built on everyone who already has an Apple Watch, or those smart Nike shoes, other Internet-of-things devices, etc.

Bikes and scooters are stolen. Cities are all different though. The best places to be are on campuses. Divvy lost over 500 bikes in Chicago. Said it was the worst market by far, and they operate in fucking Brazil. Cities react in varying ways.
chi.streetsblog.org/2018/09/25/divvying-out-the-blame-city-emails-show-why-chicago-lost-500-bike-share-cycles/

>onions scooters
never change Jow Forums. i love you

I like them. They're convenient for quickly going between my hotel and the convention center in any big city. Careful, San Diego are starting to ticket if you don't have a helmet, of course they could use the money half the damn town is homeless. Other cities don't give a fuck. Lime bikes are nice too. Only assholes leave them on the sidewalk, you're supposed to park them out the way but you know how eventually losers ruin a good thing for everyone else.

Attached: 1500310323539.jpg (640x427, 52K)

It's not legal to ride a wheeled vehicle on sidewalk, all the companies are doing is mass force bullying the cities.

>MFW somehow we're in an even more nightmarish dystopia than dystiopian fiction

Attached: 104398563061.gif (723x297, 1.57M)

>Yet
So... you're saying there's still a chance?

Why disable the GPS when you can drive them to a ghetto, so they can't say shit about their missing scooters without being racist?

Varying models exist. Sponsorship (marketing) bikes. Bikes / scooters as subsidized infrastructure is emerging as the likely model for many markets. Treat them as a bus in general. Still an emerging market that now has some serious bank players.

most of us are already there, senpai

Attached: pol watches br2049.png (1009x526, 179K)

That only works for so long. Cities have and will continue to mass confiscate scooters.

based and redpilled

As i stated earlier, homeless tards will steal them. They have a similar program in Seattle.

It's simple
>bikes require effort to power
>electric scooters require no exertion

In a lazy world it's not surprising that people prefer the motorized option

>It's not legal to ride a wheeled vehicle on sidewalk
it is where i live. i ride my bike mostly on sidewalks to get to work and back. good thing, too, as the fat blind niggers here would have killed me by now if i was on the road

Cities that force pilot programs almost always start the program in "under served" areas. To a fault. Can end badly in a hurry.

that's not the point I was making

I live in San Diego and I fucking hate them and the cucks that ride them. If I see one I toss it into the canyon

>steak
*steal.
My phones being morally superior. I chat to it, iPhones are good company these days.

They have electric bikes too

I see these fucking things all over Spokane now.

I liked these electric scooters back when they were actually new in 2003 or so.
Sadly I'm located in Germoney where these needed a number plate and driver's license to be operated. In addition one needs yearly insurance. Also they needed some weird roadworthy certification that was impossible to get. I ended up getting a normal bicycle....
Fuck that bureaucracy shithole. Now wonder Europoor got no Tesla or Youtube or Facebook like companies.

You are correct with "bullying" in a sense. That is literally the business model of Lime. Dump products with no warning. Rely on proponents to fight for you when the inevitable backlash arises. Just saying some cities don't play. Norfolk decimated the fleet of one company seemingly overnight. Huge impound fee to get them back.

Fuck Seattle

jeez what a load of shit
