Although I have a friend who lives there who claims her good friend died while protecting his girlfriend from the gunfire, I have yet to see any footage of casualties getting hit in real time. Not that I need to see it to support any such idea that it could happen, but it just sounds like a bunch of gunfire with nothing hitting anywhere around the crowd.

There is a video on liveleak that I saw of a guy looking for victims still alive. Clearly there were 2 dead bodies shown on that video that were hit by bullets.
I remember seeing this on Liveleak and literally the next day hearing on NPR about the "attack". Blew my mind.

Interesting. Could be real I guess but it's difficult to gauge the distance from the angle of the pic. The trajectory seems about right. I just remember seeing several lamp posts in a row knocked over in a direct line to the impact site and thinking holy fuck that plane was coming in low. Like maybe 20 feet off the ground for a couple hundred yards

I worked across the street (I-395) at the time in the Pentagon City Mall office building. If looking at google maps it's the building with the big white glass dome. There's a tunnel that allows you to walk from the mall to the pentagon under the highway. When the plane hit all our alarms went off and I went outside to see a gigantic plume of black smoke bellowing out of the Pentagon. So I did what any looky loo rubber necker would do and walked over there. I was literally standing there 2 or 3 minutes after it hit before any LE or firefighters had even responded. The lamp posts where in the parking lot and not the giant ones you see on highways. I remember being absolutely stunned by the fact that the plane had to have flown that low for such a distance.
