Having more jobs than job-seekers is the only mechanism by which wages can grow under capitalism.

When you consider the number of grapes that are picked in an hour the labour cost of the pickers is a fairly insignificant input in the final price of the grapes, pickers in the US are paid about $300 a ton or 15c a pound

In Canada it's even worse. Places like Tim Hortons or mcdonald's hire directly from countries like the Philippines and bring people over on temporary worker visas. They pay them at or below minimum wage, overwork them with no paid overtime and then get rid of them for fresh desperate people once their visas run out of they get burnt out.
The local mcdonald's chain owner was also providing housing for these people, effectively giving them money in one hand and taking it away in the other. Whatever pittance these people do make is sent away to their home countries to support their families making the net gain for the country zero aside from the Jew business owner who exploits the country, it's native workers and the foreign slave labour he imports.
