Of those three, I would say video games is the biggest contributing factor.
Video games and technology in general, for that matter, holds the mind. The mind is supposed to be free and able to alight on anything it wants. When it does this, desire and repulsion have no hold on it. But our minds our captured young. For me video games began at 7, and never ceased, and always escalated further and further. The mind is no longer free to alight on the world, free of judgement.
It is held in the abiding place. A prison that is dark and close and damp and cloying. Everything feels close and immediate. Nothing feels distant and spiritual, like looking at mountains on the horizon.
It is a dark realm to find oneself in. Luckily there are ways out.
