My initial reaction was that the video showed nothing remarkable or radical and I may have allowed my moderate displeasure slip through in to my post, I was wrong to do that, having read other posts here about Florida's culture I now recognise how the video could be extremely important.

Bill Nelson is a Democrat currently running for Senate in Florida. When voters in Florida go to the polls, they will be voting for Governor (Gillum is the Democrat running and subject of this video), Senator (Bill Nelson is the Democrat candidate), and a number of other local offices.

Bill Nelson has gone on record saying he wants the Federal government to create a gun database that tracks ALL sales of firearms so they can know who owns what. That is a huge expansion of federal gun control authority. The Federal government is currently by law not authorized to establish such a system. So Nelson is saying not only does he want to change the law to allow it, but he also wants Congress to allocate a shitload of money to hire all of the new federal employees to create and maintain this system.

It's a terrible idea and very unpopular in Florida.
