My fellow Burgers, what ways do you find best illustrate your support for the second amendment? I'm not necessarily looking to change anyone elses mind, but maybe more/better ways to articulate my support of it, and of gun ownership in general.
The holidays are coming up and it's sure to be a topic of discussion when some of us sit down with our families. Help the more autistic and lazy guys out?
I don’t need to articulate shit. Shall not be infringed

right to defend myself, simple as that.
>inb4 hurr so we should own atomic bombs
na, probably not, but we're not discussing that. bring back full auto.
also, based dfw:
Are some things still worth dying for? Is the American idea* one such thing? Are you up for a thought experiment? What if we chose to regard the 2,973 innocents killed in the atrocities of 9/11 not as victims but as democratic martyrs, “sacrifices on the altar of freedom”?* In other words, what if we decided that a certain baseline vulnerability to terrorism is part of the price of the American idea? And, thus, that ours is a generation of Americans called to make great sacrifices in order to preserve our democratic way of life—sacrifices not just of our soldiers and money but of our personal safety and comfort?
In still other words, what if we chose to accept the fact that every few years, despite all reasonable precautions, some hundreds or thousands of us may die in the sort of ghastly terrorist attack that a democratic republic cannot 100-percent protect itself from without subverting the very principles that make it worth protecting?
>tldr, freedom costs things, we've decided this freedom is more valuable than the current potential harms
plus, things could be improved, like mental health stuff and fighting gang violence. the arguments against why normal people shouldn't own guns are shit.

You just frame it in this way
"Would you be against Nazi Germany having a 2nd Amendment that allowed everyone, including Jews, to arm themselves?"
The point of the 2nd amendment is to allow us to defend ourselves. If these leftists believe Trump is worse than Hitler, why would they disarm themselves?
Nolan James
even the most retarded liberals can't argue that disarming the population now would simply result in guns being taken away from law abiding citizens. criminals would not hand their guns in. and its also proven historically that the harder a punishment is for a crime, the more hardcore the criminals become, you would see less overall crime occur because less drunk idiots would have guns, but the crime that is commit would be significantly more violent.

>inb4 hurr so we should own atomic bombs yes, fuck you. of course you should be able to. but nobody has the individual resources. but if all the farmers want to pool their money and buy a silo so they don't get fucked over by the cities then they should be allowed to own a fucking nuke. fuck you and your wishy washy interpretations. "right to bear arms" not "right to small caliber rifles" you dirty cunt. tanks, grenade launchers, nukes, aircraft carriers, helicopters, flamethrowers, etc. are all covered.

I lean on this one pretty regularly myself, especially when they've already brought up Trump. I think it works well to get the point across.
And, of course, when they say "If Trump is like Hitler, why aren't you running out there with your guns?", I just say, "Because Trump isn't like Hitler. If you feel he is, why aren't YOU running out there with YOUR guns?". I have never gotten a response beyond this.

In 1934 that machine gun was expensive new tech that no child could even dream of wielding. I think that gun is liquid cooles too, which would make it completely useless for a shooting.
Hunter Morgan
Even if nukes were allowed, they would probaly cost millions of dollars putting it out the pricerange of 99% of people, and then there's the maintenance cost to keep it functional which again probaly costs millions of dollars
When was the last time anyone thought about invading the us . Oh wait there’s a migrant caravan on the war and , shooting at innocents would set of war ahahahah. No need for guns anymore. They’re outdated. Bin them guns.
Leo Butler
Take people to the range that have never shot, introduce them to firearms and shooting in a safe, controlled, and friendly manner.
>Let 110 lb girl fire a 300WSM No.

The 2nd amendment is just a joke and we have not even used it when needed.
The euros have it right.

I live out in the boonies. There are bears, coyotes, wild dogs, and periodically some methy drug addicts who break into houses they think are empty. I go into the city for work and there are niggers, spics, and even more drug addicts all laying around on the street looking for quick cash how ever they can get it. The world is a messy place. Nature is even messier. You never know when you're going to need to put a hole in something, and you can't tell me I'm not allowed to defend myself with whatever force the situation deems necessary. When I lived in the city, I saw two pitbulls running loose, going through a city park. There were 20 kids at the park and the pitbulls ran up to them. They'd just attacked a small dog and left it bleeding, so I knew the kids could be in trouble. I ran over there and scared the pitbulls away. But say they'd taken down a kid. Two of them could kill a 40lb child in less than two seconds. I had 7 rounds in my magazine and I was prepared to empty them all out into the pitbulls if necessary. If you tried stopping them with a knife or a stick, you wouldn't be able to save the kid. I've also woken up with a man in my house, robbing it. I realized after chasing him off that I was incredibly lucky he wasn't armed and willing to kill. I went out and bought my first gun after that. I want to be prepared for home invasions, animal attacks, and the complete collapse of civilization. I should be able to buy and own anything that I need for survival, no matter how unlikely the scenario.
Austin Allen
Nah, they can shoot for a bit without the coolant just fine. Long enough for a single school id bet, not like your constantly firing.
I think the better picture is the one of a catalogue right after WWII, where fully automatic guns(not machine guns though) and anti tank rifles were being sold for less then 20 bucks, which even consodering inflation and earning rates by todays standards is cheap as fucking hell, yet they were not an issue at all.
Logan Martinez
When people sperg about mass shootings, I usually point out that even if you were to remove all guns from society, the people who go nuts and shoot up a school or a movie theater still have something broken inside of them that caused them to do that. Mass shootings aren't a symptom of too many guns, they are a symptom of mental illness, and more broadly, a broken, rotten society. Even beyond mass shootings, shootings in general. There's something wrong with our culture, and it isn't access to guns. You can bring up gang violence, killing people over shoes and cars and such, although the real red pill in this catagory is obviously the racial aspect. Deport all the negroes and our rates of gun violence plummet. Usually when they are carting out gun death stats, suicides are included, which dovetails into the point about mental illness and a decaying, broken culture and society.
As far as the argument about protecting ourselves from an oppressive government, the the predictable response will be "oh, so you think a few wild right wing gun nuts can take on the US government?". The short response is to point to Afghanistan. We've been there almost 20 years and still haven't gotten the place under control. The tl:dr is just breaking down that whole scenario and how it would actually play out on US soil. If a war over the second amendment breaks out, or if the government when off the rails and needed to be stopped, it wouldn't be some fucking Napoleonic war with militias lining up like 19th century European solders, marching across a field. It would be full on guerilla warfare, and there's a pretty good bet a huge chunk of the active military would defect and fight against the US government. If such a war broke out, you could about bank on entire divisions of the military, generals down to privates, commandeering bombers, fighter jets, helicopters, tanks, you name it. A lot of those guys grew are straight up Don't Tread On Me types.

Tell people this anecdote:
"A well regulated intestinal tract, being necessary to the health of a free person, the right of the people to keep and eat prunes, shall not be infringed."
Now ask them who in that example has the right to keep and eat prunes. Is it an intestinal tract, or is it the people? If they say "the people", then ask them why they might interpret the exact same sentence differently simply because guns are involved. Another good one I've used a few times on people saying "what do you need that gun for?" is asking them why Rosa Parks needed to sit in the front of the bus. The answer is the same: because it's my right and also fuck you that's why.
Also, show them pic related if you really wanna start some good shit.
Christ you're a fucking dumbass. Try putting a single second's worth of thought into your comments next time.

Right, in Europe they have truck attacks. Some of which put our worst mass shootings to shame. Las Vegas was like 60 dead. But only like 45 killed by bullets. There was a truck attack in France I think that left 80 dead. If they banned guns, then people would just come up with new ways to do it. Hell, lock the doors from the outside and start a fire at a club. All it takes is 3-4 bike locks and a gallon of gasoline. Just think of the Great White show fire, except ALL the doors are blocked.
