Governments know and accept that people will do drugs regardless of law. They also know that legalizing drugs would be an incentive to do them, as there is no longer a disincentive. Do dmt if you want, nobody will stop or catch you, and it seems like a very mind expanding drug, but to prevent degeneracy I'd say it's best to keep most people afraid of trying them in the first place

Because like any drug people abuse the shit out of it and do incredibly stupid shit. I watched 3 bright, full of life guys turn into complete puddle brains who were so far gone from smoking 5-meo day in and out like it was pot. They had lost basic touch with reality and were entertaining thoughts of having expanded psychic abilities and shit. All of it pure nonsense. I tried for weeks to talk some sense into them and finally had to cut them off.
