Because you can't buy them in supermarkets anymore like in the 90s. Because self-defense isn't a valid reason to own one besides the oddities like Czech Republic. Because all firearms are registered and restricted behing licences (besides that one or two country that are still "behind" on EUlegislation).

Don't worry about them or what they might be doing, all guns will be banned soon enough.

The police and army are on the state's side, because they pay them.

Even if a civil war would see mass defection, a lot of police and soldiers would opt to stick with the side that has the infrastructure, command chain and equipment.

Gun laws in Belgium, Austria, Italy and the best of all, Czech Rep. all have more relaxed laws than France

there have been talks in goverment to ease up acquiring guns here. Probably won't be easy as in Czechia though

actually america walking into a 4th reich would be a good thing for europe because we could freely "preentivly nuke" america to prevent WW3, all the counties that still have a "marchal plan debt " would gladly follow to "forget the debt" and china / russia who are agains foreign interventions would "stay publicly silent" but would support us on the backstage so they could loot the copyrights and other technologies
