Its a beautiful area but the weather is miserable. Imagine having a giant sponge that trickles over you for 8 months out of the year. Eastern Washington is really hot during the summer, and a frozen hellscape during winter. Also, where I lived (Wenatchee) had a shit ton of mexicans.

Oh yeah, even during summer the temperature can dip down to the 50s. I went camping near deception pass when I was a kid, dumbass me thought, "hey its summer, I wont need pants or sweatshirts." Froze my ass off the whole time.

There's no town anywhere here that isn't at least part mexican and currently my tiny low pop town is spending most of its resources on building houses and renovating specifically for californians to move in. Like everyone has already said, it's really bad now, and I'm not joking. More and more people are moving here, especially from California and Texas ( which are Californians that already screwed up the part of Texas where they were living and decided they need to screw up even more states). The prices have gone through the roof for houses as well as rental. We have ridiculous homeless problems, the people in Seattle/Tacoma and Portland/Eugene, and now beginning to show up in cities around them too, are hard left. (Because of the Californians moving here) Spokane is getting more expensive and left leaning too because of people starting to move inland and to Idaho. A lot of the other smaller cities throughout the two states, also can have there problems too, but are genuinely nicer, but there are no jobs in them, (which is why retirees are moving to them), mainly because of their size and where they are located, which is why the few big cities here have turned into such shit. My honest advice, try moving to other states and not Washington or Oregon, we really have been ruined by the onslaught of Californians and people from other states.

Not that great from my experience. I lived up around Omak/Okanogan near the Canadian border and made frequent trips into Seattle. In the country they've got Mexican laborers by the literal busload and Jamaicans. There's meth and heroin infesting the rural areas and the Indians sell coke on top of that. Lots of low income housing and SSI leeches. Seattle is exactly as shitty as you think it is, homeless everywhere, rainbow crosswalks, muh diversity, and sky high rent and housing prices. The city even proposed that people start letting homeless live in their backyard. Sounds like other people in the thread are saying southern Washington is better, I couldn't really say.
