It really is absurd. All bodies should be burned and the ashes disposed of properly. All of this prime realestate going to dead people is beyond dumb. The land needs to be reclaimed and put to use. It is also a massive waste of money with people spending $10,000 or more on a casket and plot.

i think a healthy balance is necessary. my dad died prematurely in 1992. i have not been to his grave in many years. obviously i have not forgotten about him, and i do not need to visit his grave to remind myself of him, but i think a visit now and then is good for reflection and introspection on life through the death of kin.
if i still visited EVERY day and wept and lamented and tore my clothes in grief after 26 years is artificial, if not mentally unstable.
