The only positive I see from legalization is destabilizing drug cartels but I find it hard to believe that they would be any less powerful and just go away if weed is legalized. They have more revenue streams than just weed.

The only problems with these drugs are the result of strongarm authoritarians persecuting innocent people who just want to use a substance which if not for that persecution would effect only them. Prices would be lower, recovery programs would be more successful, the tax burden of about half of our prisoners would disappear, and people would have better medical information on these substances, if they were legal. More and more people want to legalize drugs because history is a cycle and we are living in the end times of western civilization. The last stage of any civilization before its collapse is the stage of decadence, and one common characteristic for this stage is obsession with hedonism. Weed legalization does nothing to stop dealers. They always had charged really cheap and people would much rather cheap dealer weed because of the price.
Weed tourists are the worst, they approach like a sheepish child and will even ask part-timers where they can light one up like everyone smokes pot on their breaks. This is pretty null if it was legalized everywhere, but still fuck tourists.
Colorado Amendment 64 was misleading, a lot of people thought the weed money was going to go straight into the pay for teachers or some shit but only a VERY small portion of the pot-tax (which they cap at 40 million) to just rebuild schools. Not getting better teachers or anything.
All it does is attract jew-yorkers and cali-fags to move in. Million dollar houses and half a million dollar town homes are being built over swamps and creeks because the state is subsidizing construction.
Pot legalization has only been more expensive for everyone.
