I should add that there are exceptions to handguns being illegal in England, Scotland and Wales there are section 5 dealers who are allowed handguns to which it's like it's own little club where they can only be transferred to other section 5 dealers and then there's section 7 handguns where any person who passes the previously mentioned checks can own a handgun that was either made before 1911 or any weapon that has historical significance the issue with Section 7 is as these weapons are usually otherwise illegal you need to decide whether it will be kept as a special section 7 range or kept at home for collection purposes.
