Jesus preached peace, harmony, mercy, learning to suffer oppression gracefully, and conquering the world through non-violent evangelization. That wasn’t what they wanted.
They also didn’t like this guy saying that He was God while being so gentle and lamblike. They took it as blasphemy because it wasn’t what THEY wanted from a Messaiah.

its not necessary for me to specifically reply to anyone, everyone in this thread (so far) is too ignorant to learn anything from
ezra 2 is the passage that documents that of the over 4000 priests that returned from babylon, only a few hundred were the Levites that God commanded to be priests
these babylonian priests, non-hebrews, not of the 12 tribes, were the group that Jesus openly challenged, and they in turn sought to murder him
there was no 'betrayal' by anyone within the tribe of Israel
