Left wing and right wing is too restrictive and you know it. (1 post by this ID). The issue here is that you have to understand German politics prior to Hitler. From Bismark to the republic, there was, give or take, 3 different ways to rule Germany. Hitler went for something really close to what Bismark had done, but his "mistake" was to try to reunite all Germans under one nation. That said, Bismark fucking put Germany on the map. The way Bismark and Hitler ruled was pretty simple: what is the best outcome I can get for my people?
