SOLUTION TO CENSORSHIP

Hello Jow Forums,

This is a very serious and important thread.
I'm not the first to notice this, but it seems that the right-wing in Brazil has found a solution to the Social Media censorship issue. Let me explain.

During the election we just had, Facebook, Youtube and Twitter all worked together censoring right-wing channels and comentators. In addition, the media was clearly left-leaning, as usual.

In Brazil, 95%+ of internet users have a chat app called Watsapp. This app allows for messages/images/videos to be shared in groups, and works with cryptography - in such way that you really can't be censored due to de content of your message, since it is not public. Also, even thought it is not public, the messages spread very fast and very easily - most people share a lot of what they receive to other people and in other groups.

Bolsonaro won partially due to Watsapp. At the end of the campaign the left was demanding the judges to block Watsapp completly (which is insane, didn't happen).

It worked perfectly. People got every video, every meme, every commentary from right-wing sources through Watsapp.

So, even if Youtube or Facebook censored your video, you could record a video in your own phone, upload directly to Watsapp and reach millions of people.

There is no way to censor it, except by banning the plattaform. Watsapp also does not lift a finger banning specific content (except behavior that looks like spam to their algorithims), even though the Brazilian legislation is very restrictive when it comes to speech.

So, why the right-wing worldwide has not started using Watsapp already? If this app gets very popular as a general means of communication, censorship in twitter, facebook and youtube won't stop our ideas.

nice advertisement

It's owned by FB and is a centralized non-federated service. Absolute cancer.

Whatsapp is huge in Europe too. Literally everyone uses it.

isn't whatsapp just texting with some extra features?

good point, lol. I didn't know that. Thanks for the info

It becomes a network when people share with each at exponential rates

because whatapp is shit. Telegram is better

Here in NA iMessage is more popular than WhatsApp. The same basic functionalities, though poor android fags would be left out.

Could still work though, specially as the primaries start getting coverage next year.

>use WhatsApp thinking the end-to-end encryption is neat and no-one will know who's saying what about whomst
>most NPC types turn on "backup chats to Google Drive/iCloud/OneDrive"
>backups aren't encrypted
>Google, Microsoft, Apple help themselves to the contents of your chats, and share the contents with Facebook (the Five Eyes method)
>NSA/CIANIGGERS etc have all of your chats and rate memes
>you're now on the list

We're already in lists anyway. And OP is right that it genuinely worked in Brazil. The left was freaking out about it more than they did about facebook fake news in 2016.

Yes, this is bad... But it worked somehow in Brazil, worth a try.

Well, than do the same thing I said, but with Telegram/iMessage. Use it as a huge social media. It is how Brazilians used that matters, not the program itself.

Well, c'mon now, we are all in a list already.

Better than discord.

how? it's just text messaging isnt it? dont you just use your phone number?

why do people talk about it like it's a platform? are there chat rooms or something?

Discord ban groups due to content. Watsapp does not (so far).

Signal is much better
WhatsApp is cancer, but at least it's encrypted.

>Telegram is the only messenger that doesnt allow any country in the world to log into it and do whatever they please.
>Telegram is the only messenger to divulge 0 bytes of data on request (in its history) of users besides that is sent over networks and encrypted.
>Kik, Discord, whatsapp, fb messenger, hangouts, etc all are REQUIRED BY LAW to let anyone log into them and read your chats/impersonate you.
Fuck off with your botnets like discord.

Yeah, it probably did. If there was a large enough group of people doing this in the US at election time I wouldn't be surprised if Facebook eventually removed end-to-end encryption from group chats.

Very good analysis. I saw the Jews complaining they didn't have enough native Portuguese speakers to really manipulate social media like they do in English speaking countries. A lot of their automated censorship programs are still in English only for now.

Pass me your whatsapp let's catch up

This is officially the most stupid post I've seen today.

Whatsapp is owned by Faceberg.

It worked for this election, Facebook will probably, "fix" watsapp now that they know it can be used like this.
