At the end of HS I started feeling like something was amiss but couldn't put my finger on it. Over time I started having to deal with Hasidics in my area and I started to wonder if I was turning evil because of my anti-semitism towards the Hassids.

Then I quit my office job and took up a job landscaping, around the same time folks in my town were complaining about the Hassids expanding. The rednecks at my landscaping company all hate the Hassids too.

I avoided Jow Forums like the plague. I knew it was full of folks more equipped to argue their points of view than I was. Once I realized Jews were a big enough problem for grown men to openly discriminate against them I came here and started digging.

The rest is history. I bought my own hard copy of the Talmud, I'm reading like I've never read before, I'm trying to turn folks around to the truth and in a lot of my attempts I succeed - but not all of them.

What's your opinion on the controversial topic of Talmud translations and whether they can be trusted? I know there are medieval translations of some very terrible parts of the Talmud, but complete modern translations are said to leave out or mistranslate controversial parts.

If you know/learn both Hebrew and Aramaic you have a shot of reading the moon-runes, otherwise any translation is going to be filtered by the rabbi translating it. However, if you cross reference the translated Talmud with the Jewish Encyclopedia it's much easier to decipher the censored translations.

For example, here it is said that "A heathen that studies the torah deserves death!" They mean "Gentile" not "heathen", but "heathen" is non-specific and provides plausible deniability.

In the Jewish Encyclopedia it's clear by their definition of Gentile that heathen, cuthean, goi( goy, goyim) are all derogatory terms for non-jews.

In summary, I don't like it - but unless you know/learn Hebrew and Aramaic it's the best you're going to get. Some older translations are truer than the newer ones, but they're all filtered by the rabbi translating them.
