Raise the min wage to 15 dollars an hour? Why not just raise it to 100 while you're at it!

Thanks Obama
>Why not just raise it to 100 while you're at it!
Why not indeed! Then we'd all be rich and wealthy for just a few hours work a week!
That's not quite how it works. But keep believing.
That's not how it works and is just a shit argument republicans and big business use to stop worker conditions from improoving
What's the best way of going about asking for a raise? I've gotten a few but I never actually requested one before.
The phlebs who maxed out at $5 an hour and retired are sure going to appreciate the increased cost of living.
Sure

Thinking just giving people more money will solve problems is childish. The fed is using you wagecucks as pawns to print more money and further indebt you
Here is a good rule of thumb; the less money in circulation the better
yeah lets lock every generation up in poverty just because a few services might get a few cents more expenisve

The funny thing is that bill can't even buy 3 rocks.
Ah, the communist state of Zimbabwe
I have one of those actually
Ask it like “what could I do to earn more money here”.
>stop worker conditions from improving
dude literally improved his own conditions by not waiting for gibs
>be STEM
>work from home, 20hrs real work/week
>never ask for raise
>get raises anyways
feels good
Raising minimum wage doesn't do anything long term.
The market always adjusts to pass costs off to the consumer.
Stop buying chinese shit then.
>T-that's not how it works!
That's exactly how it works. The right has two primary counter arguments for raising to min wage to such a drastic high, they are..
>Things will cost more
>Work will go overseas
If things are produced in America, and the min wage goes up, those things will cost more to produce, distribute, etc, so their price will raise.
>B-but we'll just buy stuff from other countries
Then that means more production is going to be done OUTSIDE of America, which means less jobs for people in America because producing things inside America isn't competitive, the lack of jobs available for people means that they'll have less money too, so whilst things are being produced out of America, the ratio of cost:money-earned-per-person will tip dramatically in favor of cost, whilst countries with lower minimum wages will see a significant increase in business, giving them a not-insignificant international edge over the US economy.
It's not gibs when you get your fare share. Unions and government need to help workers since they are close to powerless alone compared to the employer. At least if it's a big company
why not 10 million?
I've never heard the reasoning for why they settled on $15/hour.
>"B-but young people won't be able to work at McDonalds!"
Maybe that's a good thing? Will stimulate them to find a real job
It's not because one (((inbred retard))) is posting from Sweden that we're all like him.
I think we should have absolutely no minimum wage, if you have anything to provide to society you will never notice it.
But some how removing illegals and having to pay a living wage for people to pick fruit and vegetables will increase prices?
How the fuck isn't that how it works?
>be big company
>suddenly need to pay employees ~40% more
>need to make that money back somehow
>up the prices of my product and/or lay off a bunch of workers
wow thanks for improving society guys!
>I think we should have absolutely no minimum wage
We need some kind of minimum wage, if you think western nations are being flooded with retarded third-worlders now, imagine how much worst it would be if the people making policy could pay them scraps
That's just not how it works because reddit says so and I want some $$$
My companies largest expense is wages. 33.82% to be exact. The next closest is inventory at ~27%.
Raise 1/3 of my expenses and I will have to charge you more there is no way around it.
Typically wages are close to 18-22% but I pay very well for my industry.
>FREE MONEY = GOOD

Nobody is going to pay high wages for low end jobs. All you stupid service industry niggers will be fired.
That's why you need indexation. indexation automatically increase pay if the price of the goods for basic living needs (called cost of life) augment. I f it does, everyone get a pay-raise, including the one who got an augmentation, as even his augmented salary in indexed too. Everybody win.
>but what about inflation ?
Indexation do not cause inflation, it's the other way around. Indexation only activate after inflation has increased the cost of life has increased in the first place before inflation, only after the cost of life reached a certain limit does indexation take in. So it's inflation who cause the indexation to happens, not hte other way around.
This. You will be replaced by a manager who also has to sweep the floors.
It's bad for business. Just because niggers and beaners act like working at McDonald's should be a family supporting middle class career doesn't make it real
Just go full retard and have the government control everything what could go wrong?
FUCK WAGECUCKS
>>FREE MONEY = GOOD
It's not free money. people work to be paid.
user, a business who is not abel to provide a decent way of life in exchange for a decent work is a business that should not existin the first place. it means it can only exist by exploiting it's workers, meaning it constitute an unfair competition to other businesses.
A business that can not pay correctly its workers should simply go out of business.
>tfw working at Amazon for 15$ an hour
Nothing. Belgium has been using that system for decades and we are fine.
It does one thing very successfully, it buys votes.
Even if I’m lying the point still stands you mongoloid.
We have indexation as well, it doesn't work. Inflation is much higher than the raise of wages, the state keeps raising taxes too. Housing has become completely impossible to acquire for youths, fuel for cars is on the verge of becoming unafordable for the majority of the population.
Marketing
I guess the problem is that they stay, breed and rape, otherwise it would alright if sand people want to come and clean my toilets for a few pennies.
>Inflation is much higher than the raise of wages,
Then you don't have indexation.
>asking for more money
why do people even bother. you already do the job for fuck all so of course you will continue like an automaton. nobody changes, nobody breaks free. if you look for another job your boss will get a call about it and might even set up a deal with the new boss

Why?
It's funny how if you post an NPC meme in response to being called an NPC, you just further expose yourself as one. Because the only people who are offended by NPC memes are NPC's because they realize it's true
>Because the only people who are offended by NPC memes are NPC's because they realize it's true
That's not really how that work.
1. Telling people back that they are the NPC doesn't mean they are angry
2. Even if one is offended, that doesn't mean, they really are what they are called out.
But honestly, though, many Jow Forums posters are the best candidate to actually be NPCs, because many think that reposting meme is the same as making valid arguments.
Good point, based Belgian user

We wouldn't need to raise the minimum wage if hard work and experience actually got anyone anywhere
how bout you just gib it me fo nuffin
I don't want to be an asshole, but why are they so busted?
>same poster
A bit caught off-guard by that, but okay. Thanks.
Because there is nothing more dangerous in a country than poor, angry men who have nothing to do all day
If everything in a country is outsourced then it is at mercy of agents selling it goods.
If the US imported 100% of its food from overseas then naval blockade would fuck the entire country up within weeks. Sure, possibility of successful naval blockade of the US now is pretty slim but it might not always be that way.
>minimum wage increase
>the price of everything increases with it
>meanwhile wages stay stagnant for everyone else
It benefits no one and hurts everyone who makes more than minimum wage.
>Right wing retards: "Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage is wrong!"
>Also right wing retards: "We need to get rid of immigrants so that employers will be force to increase wages!"
Explain yourselves!
You tell me faggot!
It's a bit more complicated than that.
Humanity, at some point, has got through a pardigm shift. We reached a point where we were able to produce more than we can consume. Meaning that not everyone need to work to produce what is necessary for everyone.
Our hoarding habit from the time when there were less are getting in the way of a mor balanced redistribution of Health. As much as there are many who are ready to share to the person that need it, the moment we start thinking they might be abusing the system, our old instinct kick in and we will look at any reason to not share, keep everything to ourselves and seize even more source of wealth to be sure it is not taken away from us.
Because not everybody can work a white-collar job. Elimination of decent-paying blue collar jobs means greater unemployment for the middle to lower classes. Unless you kill them, radically change the US Gov't, or force them to accept gibs, they're going to be upset and unable to make a living, so they will vote/revolt accordingly.
Also, how can people buy things if they don't have a job to pay for it?
>reminder that almost no one even makes the federal minimum wage and most states set their own minimum wages
>>minimum wage increase
>>the price of everything increases with it
seeIt's not minimum wage that cause inflation, it's inflation that cause the need to increase minimum wage in the first place.
Why not just give away stuxnet? 20% of our uranium?
It's a temporary stepping stone from being an unemployed 17yo with no work experience to being an employed 18yo with a year of experience, a car, and money for tuition to study for a real job.
You absolute faggot.
Why do liberals ignore numbers and facts?
Do they honestly think things should go based on their feelings?
> implying burger education can prepare you for a real job
If mcjobs are off the menu and the educational system doesn't start teaching more saleable skills, then shits getting hairy
I don't know, how about, instead, paying a decent pay for a decent work, in decent working conditions ?
Fuck minimum wage, just make everything free.
>>be me
>>work hard
>>prices of everything goes up
>>my raise means nothing now
if you don't get a raise every year you are a fucking cuck
>What's the best way of going about asking for a raise?
Find a new job that pays more, then quit your old job.
"Job hopping" is the only way to get ahead nowadays.
If you stay with the same employer for more than 3 years you end up getting screwed over because even if you get a raise it tends to be so little it barely covers inflation.
Also never ever take a job with a low "starting" wage.
You can be a star performer and get a "big" raise every year but you will never make up for lost ground.
>Do they honestly think things should go based on their feelings?
No, they think things should go on a fair trade for both party.
>1 post by this ID....two hours later
Ok I was about to write up something about how many closed restaurants there are in cities where $15 was made the new minimum wage and then I just realize I was wasting my fuck time for an obvious shill thread meant to only flood the board. Kill yourself OP.
Wow they sure don't know how to do any of that.
They're really good at saying one thing, then doing to COMPLETE OPPOSITE.
>Ok I was about to write up something about how many closed restaurants there are in cities where $15 was made the new minimum wage
It only means that those weren't sustainable business in the first place. It means they could only work by slowly depleting their workers personal capital as their job could not provide enough to cover their cost of living in the first place. Those kind of business are not good for the economy.
Raising minimum wage actually doesn't matter, inflation takes care of it. It's fools errand and if Democrats insist on it, whatever. Consider Japan: their minimum wage is about 1000 monetary units per hour. Their purchasing power is still about the same as in USA because everything costs more monetary units. Finland has no minimum wage and our purchasing power is on par with both Japan and USA. So, if that kind of ridiculously stupid idiocy wins votes, go for it.
Isn't it up to the students to pick a subject with good job prospects?
I've noticed Gem Z is much better at that than Millennials were.
Liberals btfo
>They're really good at saying one thing, then doing to COMPLETE OPPOSITE.
Wanting to increase minimum wage is not contradictory.
seeThe increase is not what cause the inflation. If there is a need to increase minimum wage, it means that inflation already happened in the first place.
What it will do is reduce the amount of hours they work and increase costs. The only good minimum wage is no minimum wage. Let people engage in whatever fucking work they want
If that were true then how come people can live just fine off minimum wage in Europe and have so since the 1960's when they raised the minimum wages?
>The only good minimum wage is no minimum wage. Let people engage in whatever fucking work they want
That usually cause exploitation of the work force. And those working conditions is precisely what gave birth to Communism.
So, if no minimum wage cause the creation of communism, I wouldn't say minimum wage is a good thing. quite the opposite, actually.
You speak as if our money is something more than paper with Jewish approved pics printed on it.
