Well aside from some nigger tier Burger sects of Christianity most Protestants technically are still Catholics. They just aren't Roman Catholics. So yeah Catholics in general are better for the West. Especially groups like Opus Dei or those who were behind the Inquisition.

Most major protestant denominations have caved on birth control, premarital sex, gay marriage, abortion, and also woman priests. When you only have your own understanding to interpret scripture without church Tradition, it's inevitable that people will interpret things to suit their own biases and that opens the door to corruption. There are plenty of corrupt individuals in the Catholic hierarchy the same as there are in other denominations but loyalty to the Magisterium and traditional church teaching prevents these important doctrines on sex and family life, the building blocks of society, from changing with the fads of public opinion.
