Basque ARE NOT FRENCH. There is a huge basque community in the area I live and my godfather was born in the basque country. They are a distinct and very ancient group of peoples. They are 100% indo-european, but they are an isolate; they are neither celt, germanic, romantic, slavic, or any other ethnic family. They are simply just Basque.
p.s. Basque food is fucking amazing. If I had to rank european foods, theyd be in the top 3 with Italian and Polish for sure!

I'm not basque, I'm actually Irish and English. But if you look at the Basque peoples, they are VERY similar looking to Swiss-French people. The Basque do share Indo-European DNA, and that is a fact. However, it is unknown how far back they became their own group since the Basque language has no real relative language. They have lived on the Iberian Peninsula and in what was ancient Gaul as far back as 5000BCE. This can attest to their language isolate status.

That is true, however their language does actually have a lot of similar words/sounds to the Lithuanian and Latvian languages (the most similar to Protoindoeuropean).
Ultimately it comes down to this. Stop arguing about being "white". White was invented by Americans. Fuck that. Basque are EUROPEAN. That is all that should really matter. They have lived in the Basque country for 7000 years. Whether 100% Indo-European or not, they are our brothers. They resisted Christianity up until the 17th century! They are as European as they come.
End the purity spiraling. You can't accomplish anything if you constantly are pointing guns at those next to you. The Basque are very traditional and nationalistic. They are a great ally.
