it sucks that if you work in finance at all, you basically have to live there to have your career go anywhere.

If you made decent money it's basically a degenerate sexual playground full of hot vapid women, but it's stupid expensive and unless you are dumb rich you will be living in a shithole of an apartment. It smells terrible in the summer and is basically the north pole in the winter. All the blacks that live there and generally cause problems live off of welfare and free housing.

Everything else is whatever. That fucking smell, though. Sharp, hot, trash, adrenalin, every drug, shit, heat smell. Sticks to your clothes, hair, skin. You have to shower morning and night not to smell like a bag lady.

No one is jealous. The only adults who move to NYC are immigrants. The only Americans who mover there are in their twenties, and retarded. The first year is just a blur of what they think is fun, and then they find their niche for a couple years. Suddenly they realize they are being sucked dry and will never own anything, which is when they start trying to move. Unfortunately, their expenses are so great, that exiting the city is basically impossible for them unless they find a job that will pay them to relocate. When that fails, they force themselves to embrace their servitude as a survival mechanism, and they become borough rodents who never leave their neighborhood only to die in a closet they share with people they don't know.
