The Democrats should have wished for a loss yesterday which would allow their establishment fuckheads could get necked, the far left to chimp out and reveal themselves, and for the party to reform and place an actually viable candidate against Trump in 2020. With the win, however, they've given Trump ammunition and he will take shots at Pelosi and Waters whenever he can and use them for campaign ads. They've also given him the ability to campaign on obstruction for 2020, something he couldn't do as easily if the house was retained. If they actually end up impeaching him it will get shut down in the Senate and will backfire more horribly than impeaching Bill did.
