Culture is everything. If there is a big discreptancy in values your society there will be a clash. Coincidentally culture is often corrolated with race. I define it as any government structuration or social movement involving a group putting group interests as a priority. It typically revolves around a singular nation or empire. Nationalism can be as simple as US Patriotism, or more complex such as Fascistic regimes. Now, the best way to do that is to combat inflation and eliminate the minimum wage so the market can define wage value. (With a minimum wage, the cost of living merely raises to the new norms. This causes savings to be devalued, an increase in part timers, and a lay off for full time employees; it also causes smaller businesses to go out of business.

An 'ism' usually implies a belief in something. Nationalism is the belief in the Nation state, as opposed to the Imperial state. This is where self-determination comes into play, which is not fulfilled through Imperialism. Hence the two come into opposition. The Empire seeks to rule over countries and deny them their self-determination, including its own. The Nation state seeks to liberate other countries from the control of Imperial states and affirm the self-determination of its own people.
In the Nation state, the legitimacy for the government comes from the people.
In the Empire it usually comes from God, or a higher power.

For a row of 500 people in a factory to be as cost efficient as a row of robotic arms, they'd have to be paid in peanuts. How are these people going to afford families and housing, without those then being subsidised by the state?
My ideal is the 50s family, where a husband could work a low skilled job and still afford the family life.
I don't want a disenfranchised underclass of millions that will then need to be constantly kept in check by an increasingly paranoid state.

People don't work in factories anymore, m8. We outsource hard labor and have made, America at least, is a service industry. The concept of automation making man obselete goes back to the late 19th century, so I am doubtful of actual destruction of the labor force. It's a scare tactic Socialists and Communists have used for forever. That US report that said automation will replace a large percentage of the labor force according to current projection also said that the schools should adjust accordingly so that students have a greater capacity to work on electronics as they get older.

Very true for the most part (plenty of poultry factories where I am that keep many thousands employed). Robots do and it's already increased discontent among those who lost their jobs. There are also things like agriculture that has shed more and more humans. Service industry, financials etc has not picked up enough of the slack. Not to mention, automation will hit them too...then what?
Building and Servicing robotics and a few self employed kooky crafters is nowhere near enough to employ everyone.
We can't go on like this, with kike ideologies remaining a constant threat due to a really shitty economic system that keeps a section of the population hopeless and wallowing in drink and drugs.
