There is no need to stop all of them though.
Paratroopers by their very nature are extremely light infantry. The amount of ammunition and supplies they can carry is extremely limited. The Kriegsmarine would have to be landing within hours of the paras to stand a chance of establishing a strong beachhead.
The Royal Navy and Air Force would be on high alert at the German build up in Calais so they’d be bombarded from the second they left port all the way to Dover/Southampton and wherever else they try to land, meanwhile the lightly equipped German paras are facing a relentless assault from the British trying to retake whatever ports they managed to take and hold, (which is not going to be all of them).
Instantaneous communication like we take for granted now wasn’t really a thing, radio communication was unreliable at best and it’s doubtful paras would be able to radio in to let the navy know which ports were open to them, so the Germans would also be taking fire from shore batteries as they approach.

This is exactly what the Germans predicted would happen, and it’s why they never attempted Operation Sea Lion, the chances of success were minimal and the cost in German lives and resources astronomical.
