Nothing. Nothing stops them. See, the thing is I'm actually a big fan of inheritance. In fact I think inheritance should be tax-free. However, I'm very sceptical of the rich obtaining large amounts of institutional power. It always results in this shit. The issue is that I can't see any way to prevent that without going batshit authoritarian.

In very simple terms, the richest private individuals control very little actual wealth. This may run contrary to what liberal media and Keynesians force down your throat from a child's age, but it is nonetheless true. Private individuals have very little control over policy; it is their businesses that have an impact, but in order for their business to run well it must do its job correctly.
Point being that in order for the inheritor to have an impact, it IS merit-based. We no longer live in the old nepotism-riddled economy; sons may get a leg up in their father's business, but no board will just accept them as replacements for a CEO or founder chair unless they do the work.
The truth is that many of the hedonistic nightmare heirs blow through their money astonishingly quickly. Look at the Hilton fortune, or what's happening to the Kardashians. If they are imprudent, they will bereckless, and evil, they will let their money disappear by being unable to control it, or to provide value to the economy via a service or good consumers want.
