Children of men is probably in my top 5 favorite films despite the fact it has heavy marxist undercurrents. It's funny how many marxist films I'm able to enjoy actually. I think it's because marxists are able to correctly identity a number of problems, they just completely fail when it comes to why they exist or how to fix them. Thus you can greatly improve a marxist film simply by viewing it with through a nonmarxist lense.
