I’ve been accused of it for telling a woman she was acting like she was mentally ill.
She actually was mentally ill though.

corporate entities adopting this model to d&c employees. how does one combat it without coming off as "crazy"?

It essentially works by making somebody's feelings, objections or perception seem illegitimate, unjust or plainly wrong even to themselves. Especially if you're in a position of power and do not want your opponent to be emboldened to fight back, or even confront the problem, you make them feel wrong inside by making them the bad guys; for example making their concerns be and affront or assault of something ese that they wouldn't want to jeopardise.

eg> Oh, you think that family courts are oppressive to males, well you are rolling bacck women's rights 60 years. You don't want to do that goy, right?

It was done to me. A person knew I was suffering from mental health issues and attempted to leverage that against me in an argument, implying that I didn't have sound judgment.

The short version is, he was friends with a guy who was banging some chick. This guy CLAIMED he was NOT banging the chick, but that she was thirsting for it, but it came out that he really did and was lying. Their behavior was weird and shady so I distanced myself. He brought it up and acted like my distancing was the shady shit.

There are certainly some who do it, I even know at least one guy who does it without even realizing he's being manipulative, or at least that's what he says.

It's things you never thought about.
E.g. massive gaslighting in making people believe that being against foreign migration is immoral, so they must not talk about it in public. (It's literally a loss of territory/lebensraum to invasions, which in the past would only be possible via war and ethnic cleansing.)
Many more topics which nobody ever questions.

Particularly effective is to condition people to automatically dismiss natural reactions to oppression, eg

Things like this make it difficult for anyone objecting to legitimate oppression to express it in a manner that isn't either bland/emotionless (political suicide if women are involved), or playing into the meme, resulting in dismissal in almost all cases.
Things like this are common examples of it too.

It is important to remember though that the term was coined and used by the left in order to project everything that they themselves do onto their enemies, while conditioning their followers to dismiss criticism of their own positions. This may be partially responsible for why "right wing arguments" are typically less effective than simply showing leftists their own propaganda, but in a manner unintended by it's creators (collages / timelines / hypocrisy / highlighting mass jews / etc).
