High crimes and misdemeanors is a nebulous term that basically opened the door for removal of a president or other high officials for basically anything, as long as enough people were on board with it.

What if you elect some guy and he turns out to be a total faggot who lied to everyone, and now even most of the people from his own party want him out? Thanks to impeachment you can just say something like "Oh his behavior is fucked up" or "He's betraying public trust"

Not that they'd need to rely on that with Donald though. They could argue that a number of things he has done constitute obstruction of justice, and they could (If they end up with hard proof) go after him for campaign finance violations that may exist.

There are a lot of options if a party or group of parties has the desire and means to get rid of a president via impeachment.
