If you have 20 or 30 IQ point difference from someone you will have considerable difficultly talking to that person as the way you think and see reality and thus express yourself is different enough to be almost a foreign language.

Its not the level of education that determines intelligence. That determines knowledge.
But yeah some fields will require somewhat above average intelligence for people to be performing at a acceptable level, so it kinda depends in what circles you go around. Around Doctors, Engineers, Law, Officers, and any other position that has to deal with somewhat complex systems you will find people that are either somewhat above average in intelligence or drive to get lectures a lot to compensate the intelligence deficit with raw knowledge.
