I'm exactly in this situation. My grandfather was a World War 2 vet and I spoke to him about it a great deal and understood his perspective.
My opinion on it personally is that we were fighting a different form of fascism. The Germans might have had it right, but they were trying to subject everyone under their rule and try and establish a world government. It is cuckoldry to bend over and submit yourself to the rule of a foreign government.
I am 100% supportive of a fascist government taking power in the United States, but I would have never supported the United States being taken over by the Germans.
