No. I've been interviewing people on junior developer positions for ~2 years now, and college diploma doesn't mean shit.

All of those things, especially smart. Should've gone to college.

They are no longer the keepers of information as they once were. Technology has made them less essential.
However the USA is a class-conscious society, And college has been a signal of your class status. Not only if you have a degree, but where you got it. This will continue to drive people to college.
On the other hand, anyone who has made money gets respect and you don’t need the degree to get there. But you need to have something going for you..

Many people don't, but a college degree opens up doors for people and those who understand the uselessness of college but still want to go through those doors tend to suck it up and just get it over with.

College is essentially an IQ/aptitude/employability test substitute for employers since most can't legally give one to their prospects. If you've gotten through college it shows them you can probably follow basic instructions and aren't fully retarded. In a perfect world, they could just give an IQ test and you could skip wasting years of your life and tons of $ on mostly useless college, but then the vast network of parasites (useless & redundant administration, shitty teachers, etc) that have grown out of the education system wouldn't get their cut .... so that'll never happen.

I have an associates degree and make $300,000 a year.

I learned a trade and only obtained said degree to meet state licensing requirements. After grants and otherwise, I only had to pay $200 out of pocket.

College kids like living off of debt for years, as it’s the easiest time of their lives. I’m married with children and a house and I’m not even thirty. I grew up in a single-wide trailer in fucklebuck USA to a single mother.

College is a scam and absolute garbage. The biggest idiots I know have met their max on their loan amounts and work at Starbucks or Target as “managers” or they don’t work at all.

Depends on what you are majoring in. The anti science/SJW infested majors are primarily sociology, anthropology, cultural studies, gender studies, leisure management and colonial studies. Basically most stuff that ends with studies.

You generally have good job security with STEM, medicine, economics and even business.

In the job market degrees generally serve as a certificate of competence. But this diminishes when more people obtain a degree. So to gain the same effect your parents had, you need to aim for a master instead of a bachelor.

In the Netherlands university only costs about 2K a year and you get to study at universities ranking between 50 to 200 on the world stage which is comparable to US 25 to 62.

So the investment in a degree here is low compared to the US. If you need 50k+ in loans you might want to re-evaluate and make sure you are on the right path.

Is this just an American/ Canadian issue or are the British affected as well? I got to uni and I'm thinking of dropping out considering I'd end up in 100k of debt but we don't get compulsory gender studies or anything.
