Let's Settle It

Is TOR a honeypot owned and controlled by state actors? Or is it a legitimate way to remain semi-anonymous on the internet, and be free from gov't survelliance?

both.

both, its decentralized in essence but you always run the risk of routing through a honeypotted node unless you host your own.

Hun. Ney. Pott.

Any good imageboards on there?

Honey Pot, uncle is an NSA contractor, it's been a Honey Pot since the beginning.

afaik tor was created by the government so.....

There are a good number of .onion chans, most of them are very slow though.

this. most parts glow like cp and sites where you pay with crypto
But the forums don't glow as much

And 99% of them are flooded with CP. Miss me with that shit nigga

Soros controls most CP boards in the deep web anyway.

Yes, it was a state project designed for spies to be able to convey information to each other.

cia controls some

I been on tor for android, even checked out one of the pedo chat rooms out of curiosity. Seen all the cp images they shared, all with java script turned on too kek. I was trolling them, calling them nonces and that. That was ages ago and no police ever came to my door thank fuck.

if all .onion was fully compromised, why is there drug sales going on there as we speak?

this plus the nodes have been compromised, there is no "anonymous" on the internet

Attached: 345456457.jpg (750x1000, 38K)

Is it’s name famous after receiving tons of press? Honeypot

>deepstate
>against drug sales
you retard

I’ve never been on but it sounds to me like the traffic on there is still too high for them to really bother with anybody other than actual distributors or content creators. And i mean.. those are the people we want them to get. Only problem though is sometimes the distributors are the feds

Think you answered your own question there user

I dont even know what tor is bro. Torrents?

The best way to remain anonymous is to take ZERO measures to attempt to

The only people who care if it's a
>honeypot
are people dealing in child porn and drugs. If you're just trying to do legal stuff that isn't allowed on the normal internet because sites are run by shitlib faggots who censor everything, who cares if those other sites get caught? Tor is still useful even if it's not perfect.

I buy pot on there routinely. Unless you're into drugs or child porn there really isn't a point to the darkweb.

Signal & WhatsApp are just as good

Using google equipment to look at CP is pretty intelligent.
There are some good chans on there but most of Tor is just scams to get suckers bitcoins. Some claim it is CIA run, but if you run it on TAILs you can configure it to stay off the radar. Not that I care that they see me, because I just look around to see what is there. I do like some of the security forums as well.
>afaik tor was created by the government so..
Name something government has made or funded that they have kept control over.
>I’ve never been on but it sounds to me like the traffic on there is still too high for them to really bother with anybody other than actual distributors or content creators.
That is how I read it. They busted CP Forum admins, and content providers. From what I have read lurkers have not been busted.

Attached: tor (((supporters))).jpg (1000x1600, 841K)

That's simply not true.

Honeypot. There is no anonymity any more. Stop trying to hide. Stand tall and tell the CIA and FBI and anyone else watching to SUCK YOUR DICK! Also, fill your HD with fatty, tranny and granny porn and hide hidden messages in the images so they have something nice to look at.

>Always do the opposite of what the jews do
Well, that sucks.
Everything is a lie... ah, fuck.

Okay I'll try to make this as clear as possible. I'm also drunk so maybe not.

For what it's worth, at work I am a senior "infrastructure architect" or whatever the fuck they call me this week at a Fortune 100 that has to maintain medical data for about 1/3 of the US. Not that it matters on an anonymous Portuguese ship-captaining enthusiast forum.

Digital shit is like physical shit in that nothing is 100% secure as long as someone with enough time/money wants your shit and firmly believes your shit is worth whatever time/money he throws at it

It literally comes down to how important of a target you are and how much governmental power the time/money of whoever can be exchanged for

Tor is a cool science experiment and yeah it's more "secure" in the sense that if you do something that draws enough legal shit that your IP records get subpoenaed it would require the investigating folks go through a lot more trouble and expense to turn it into a provable trail.

Compromised nodes would make this easier but still harder than nothing at all.

But unless you're a serious target, it doesn't matter. And if you're a serious enough target you're fucked regardless.

The FBI paid researchers at Carnegie Mellon University $1 million to compromise TOR

it was literally developed by the government.

inb4 kangaroo fucker comes in to call us all illiterate tin foilers

Attached: 1537327921497.jpg (250x250, 12K)

TOR has always been a honeypot. They just don't care about most of the flies they catch.

180.chan
The Leaf knows

Attached: the mask of god.jpg (600x338, 18K)

Everything was developed by the government. They literally founded every major Big Tech company, payment processors, etc. that have a monopoly on the Internet today. That's why Trump is doing absolutely nothing to stop them from censoring the people.

>team Cymru

They are Welsh jews or something?

Tor + Pedo = Torpedo

made by the navy

get it?

it's set up as a containment zone for all the pedos the FBI can never realistically go after to keep them out of public eye

Insider here
I used to be one of the contributors of TOR. Over time it slowly became inundated with SJW types. The last straw for me was when they forced Jacob Appelbaum out (one of the faces of TOR, and a friend of Julian Assange and Scott Ludlum an Australian senator).

Roger Dingledine (cofounder) was soon under the control of his succubus slut, and then mossad killed Casper (CEO who spoke out against Israels control over chip maker Intel). He's now replaced with a fucking tranny who implemented a new ethics system including the sale of userdata under 'specific rules' such as paedophilia, rape, misogynistic, racist etc content. Not even kidding. For some reason the drug markets are still off limits.

Oh PIC related was my last visit to the German hackers conference 2 years ago. The hacking community is also overrun with SJW types who have no understanding of computers, networks, hardware, coding or anything else you would relate to the community. Half the talks now are also political.

Anyway I'd had enough and decided to hack the lobby screen with Trump pics and 'rapeugees not welcome' pics. Triggered the fuck out of all 10000 attendees. The hackers community is all but dead, and intelligence agencies couldn't be happier.

Ask me anything, and DO NOT TRUST TOR!

Israels 8200 unit

Attached: IMG_20161229_111206.jpg (4640x3480, 3.57M)

Some.of the triggering that day on twitter:

Attached: IMG-20161229-WA0009.jpg (899x1599, 200K)

I've never seen a chan on TOR that had this, but maybe that's because I don't go looking for it.

TOR addresses have .onion in their URL, dumbass

>Israels 8200 unit
Wh-.. What's this?

>Ask me anything
say something nice about OpenVMS

>created by darpa and naval intelligence as a distributed comms network
>released into the wild to provide concealment of official use
The NSA holds decryption keys for the network. It's as secure as ssl

anything with a computer isnt to be trusted, including you if you stick one inside yourself one day.

in advance fuck you to all cybercunts in the coming decades you degen scum

>>Israels 8200 unit
>Wh-.. What's this?
Was going to write more about it and decided not to, left it at the bottom by mistake. Its a unit of hackers that have been behind things like Stuxnet (including inserting Russian and English code and comments to shift blame and make it difficult to pin on Israel) believe me Israel did stuxnet even after the US told them not to.

Rumor has it that 8200 probably also hacked Sony and bled it on North Korea. North Korean internet is at best dsl speeds piped out to the world, so how the fuck did they download 100's terabytes of Sony data

>>Ask me anything
>say something nice about OpenVMS
As long as memory can be hacked and the board your running it off is vulnerable, then no VM really matters

Wanted to ask the question. I use mostly a browser with addons for privacy, adds... (we often have threads about this on pol, with various opinions on what is better... but never saw tor).

Not an expert on the subject but wanted to give it a try not long ago... Downloaded Tor browser on my laptop (barely use it) and orbot+orfox for android (super slow, not really using it...).
Looked into it a little bit further, saw things like tails that i may want to try..,

Is it really useful or what? Seems like it isn't... I'm not into dark web or some shady shit, just conventional internet use.

all evidence of classic Judaism

Oh you meant something nice. Great community and will work on even old machines. Much like DDWRT or OpenBSD its maintained well

Individual onion sites are honeypots. The service itself is a government scam to use other peoples anonyimity to hide their own anonymous activities.

>how the fuck did they download 100's terabytes of Sony data
Same way the Russians pulled all that data out of the dnc servers at local transfer rates

If you care about privacy DO NOT use chrome. Get away from google. Seriously, there are communist types within who are compiling their own databases of users who browse Jow Forums. All it takes is that data to leak. DO NOT TRUST google ever.
As for TOR, its ok for browsing, if u want to view onion sites or info that u don't trust your ISP or regular browser with, then TOR browser (reconfigured Firefox) is good. TAILS is actually a great VM and the maintainers are trusted people, they are apolitical

Attached: IMG_20161229_145910.jpg (4640x3480, 3.04M)

do you want to know how I know you're a hack?

>there are communist types within who are compiling their own databases of users who browse Jow Forums
The tracking goes WAY, WAY beyond that. Links are made via cookies and/or IP address and websites you go to that have google tracking cookies.

Depends on how autistic you are.

Attached: heh.jpg (393x813, 127K)

Fucking leaf

Attached: IMG-20161229-WA0006.jpg (899x1599, 145K)

Correct.

It's legit, but the FBI/CIA own a lot of the exit nodes, which means they can get some date on you, but as long as you're using encryption if you're giving out anything like an address to buy drugs, you're fine.

Also, they can get a general idea of who is using Tor or not, they can use this to track you. If they know what city you live in, you start posting while using Tor and no one else in that city or block is using Tor and just you, then they'll be able to know it's you, but to get to that level they have to be looking for you for a good reason, like being a major drug dealer or something.

Overall, it's great for privacy, but still, know what you're doing to protect yourself, if it's just for general shit posting and doing white supremacy shit, you're fine. If you live in Europe, you have less rights than us, so use it, all the time.

There are so many ways to track your use of the internet, that if you are in the same place for longer than it takes to drive a car from across town, you're ID'd if they want you. You don't have the computational power to stop the big-guys.
Further, you probably have no idea how much info is going out from your PC that is identifying. It's a brave new world baby, get over having enemies and decide what you're gonna do.

thanks to the repulican congress for investigating all of that. good job worthless faggots

This, I always think of Tails and Tor as one, but fucking use Tails, boot load it from a USB drive with persistence and you'll be safe. Again though, it's not idiot proof, so study up and don't give out your personal info.

why do you use browse Jow Forums if hiromoot has malicious scripts on the site.

what do you do to protect your self from xss attacks and such?

tor was literally created by the american fed intelligence agencies

Google is embedded with Jow Forums by way of the Captcha. Have you noticed Captchas going slow especially on Jow Forums or at least difficult to solve? Google can customize the difficulty of captchas according to site.

nevermind you probably use a VM for everything.

what about router or modem security?

Get an android phone
Put LineageOs ROM on it
DO NOT load google apps (harder then it sounds but IVs gone 4 years now without a play store and all the google apps)
Root phone
Use OpenVPN and a trusted VPN of your choice (NordVPN/AirVPN couple good ones, I made my own OpenVPN servers hosted in different countries)
Use Firefox and duckduckgo.com for default search (!bangs are awesome)
If u need some apps like Spotify or whatever, go get raccoon on PC, it let's u download android apks under a made up google account then load em on ur phone
Use F-Droid for all other apps

It can be super hard but I've lived like this for years. The alternative would be to not have a phone.

Attached: IMG_20161229_105513.jpg (4640x3480, 3.63M)

>Put LineageOs ROM on it
requires a phone that is compatible with it

Use a router that u can put ddwrt on, that also allows for OpenVPN.

Posting on THE most significant honeypot asking if TOR is one.
GG

What does he say about it?
It's harder for them to nab you (they have to try), but still doable. Not nearly as easy as default internet which is like shooting fish in a barrel

One plus phones are nice and cheap, lineageOS works on them, and they have the same hardware as the flagships. Do I need to hold ur hand?

Attached: IMG_20161229_105531.jpg (4640x3480, 3.12M)

Found you JEW! Your horns gave you away.
For the record there is, but you're just slowing NSA down, not stopping them.

Attached: 1537222169787.gif (450x450, 776K)

yea idk i use clover
you don't need to tell me all this btw

>get a phone
phones are literal tracking devices
especially smart phones.
i wouldn't tell someone to get a smartphone then install a retarded meme rom.

as for vpns, 99% of them are compromised probably. How else do vpn providers make money? by selling data.

as for firefox, just disable javascript
about:config
javascript.enabled false

>If u need some apps like Spotify or whatever, go get raccoon on PC, it let's u download android apks under a made up google account then load em on ur phone

botnet

>Use F-Droid for all other apps
F-droid is pretty slow with their updates lol..

what about openwrt?

(((They))) use (((themselves))) as a reason to stop you from TOR.
I'm not buying it

Attached: 1538067743100.gif (219x186, 1.76M)

redpill me on how to have actually secure web access/browsing. Is it worth getting in to hacking/cryptography if I'm over 15 and don't have a fuckload of time on my hands? Any things you think more people should know about cyber security? Any hardware/software you'd recommend looking into? I'm sure I'm at least already partially to completely fucked based on my complete lack of security but willing to learn

Use TOR with Tails. That's the only real way to stay anonymous. TOR leaves a footprint on your hardware, so run it off Tails, which is designed to run TOR with more anonymity. However, it ultimately comes down to the user. If you're doing illegal shit, like CP, you deserve to get v&.

>How else do vpn providers make money? by selling data.
Have you even looked at the websites of VPN providers? It's not free.

If i wanted to build my own version of Tor so that it becomes less of a honeypot and not control by the navy, what would need to be done?

Technically he's right. There are zero days out there (and methods of tracking) that could reveal just about any user (from grammar patterns to ISP/VPN/VPS/Membuff attacks) however it comes down to:
COST

Thanks to many people running exploratory and info gathering honeypots, if the NSA has payed for a $20 million dollar zero day exploit they're not gonna use it on any minor hacker for fear a honeypot captures it and publishes how it works, rendering it useless. They're gonna hold it for your snowdens or cyber espionage.

Intelligence agencies spend millions (maybe billions) on zero day exploits.

Just work out your cost, and what it would cost them to hack you. Increase your digital security to be above the cost of hacking you and you will be fine

ok you sound convincing enough, can you give us a short list of the most essential privacy tips you know, bear in mind I'm retarded, thank you

>redpill me on how to have actually secure web access/browsing.

leave Jow Forums
disable javascript
don't do any personal shit on your computer.
>Is it worth getting in to hacking/cryptography
if you are deeply interested, you wouldn't be asking this retarded question
>Any things you think more people should know about cyber security?
always use open source or GPL based software. Use GNU/Linux. it goes a bit deeper than that.
>Any hardware/software you'd recommend looking into?
how paranoid are you? you aren't 100% invincible. There are hardware backdoors. Intel probably installed them, who knows.

>mossad killed Casper (CEO who spoke out against Israels control over chip maker Intel).

more info pls

This is why you have to look at VPN providers' logging practices and what data they collect and how they use it. A lot of the time, they say what they do with it and what they log.

Fucking Leaf, shitting up the thread

Attached: IMG_20161229_105520.jpg (4640x3480, 3.76M)

Sure

Doesn't matter. Mainstream VPN's are okay for general browsing. Doesn't make you 100% invisible.

I am an infrastructure architect for a multi hospital EMR as well and our jobs have nothing to do with TOR. I dont see why you think you are speaking with any expertise.

Fellow AusAnon, what's the safest way to browse the DW? Is it worth it?

>have super secret old android phone with custom rom
>call mom to ask her whats for dinner
If this is your only phone you can still easily be tracked when you call any of your contacts. Even if you have zero contacts, How do you know they aren't turning on your gps function without you knowing the moment you post pic related on this honeypot origami-dildo message board?

Attached: 1478800533054m.jpg (897x1024, 219K)

you could have just linked the retards this website.
privacytools.io/

>leave Jow Forums
>he doesn't know he's here forever

Best redpill, go get your CCNA cert. Then do CCNAsec. Those alone will teach you how the internet works, how to be secure and you can build on from there. Also a CCNA is recognised around the world and will help u get a job anywhere.
If ur interested in cryptography, after u do CCNA and get the basics, go straight into elliptic cuvr crypto. Its the future of crypto, but requires a lot of maths

You would need millions of users using your version so that you could obscure yourself amongst them. Basically don't bother

Don't use personal laptop
get tails
or use VM
disable javascript
browse tor

advanced
disable a bunch of uneeded kernel modules
harden the linux kernel

>Install VPN?
>Install virtual machine
>Using linux
>Use Tor. inside VM?

Is this ultimately safe?
