With governments being able to track your every move and the fact that (((they))) want you hooked on the social media jew, I’ve been thinking about ditching my smartphone for an old flip phone. Has anyone else done this?
Getting rid of smartphone
Why not just kill the people who use technology for their own selfish gains and without love rather than destroy the progress to humanity technology gives us.
Yea posting from my flip phone now took my 10 minutes to write this.
So just you and about 10 other people left then.
If youre smart enough you can crack the damn thing but its very convenient to have one. I woild only Imagine you dont want to be traced to sell drugs or other illegal shit
Just get an iPhone if you actually want privacy.
If you are even considering doing this you are either
>a teen
>a neet
>both
I understand what you're saying but being connected is essential for work, you'll need to receive messages, do video calls, and generally fit in with people and make connections, stop being an edgy Lord and think for a second that you alone won't stop the goverment, but being someone sociable with a good professional standing is a way more powerful weapon, tech is here to stay deal with it.
Just a heads up they can just as easily track your movements and exact location from a flip phone and have been doing so since they were invented.
t. teleco engineer
honestly the only advantage a flip phone has is no social media. if you think the government can't track you with or without a phone your dumb
>edgy Lord
>Lord capitalized
spotted the phoneposter.
You will get better info if you take this topic to
>autism
Yeah I switched over to a flip a few years back.
I get soooooo many younger women asking about how it works. One thing leads to another and bam. I've got so much pussy it's the perfect conversation starter make the switch now!
>he's not comfy phone posting from his bed while waiting food to arrive
Married father of two, it’s not just about paranoia. I’m just thinking disconnecting from everything that a phone brings might be healthy.
Am I wrong?
Can confirm. Location information is sent to the carrier on a very frequent basis.
There are some positives about being tracked too. Best way to get off the grid is to turn the phone off unless you need it.
t. database administrator
anonymous has the same capabilities as the fbi and cia now.
>Omg you still have a flip phone why
>t-the gubmint is tracking us so I use flip phone
>oh ok
>never see her again
I'd rather die than ever work with sql ever again.
Also, your phone will still transmit location data, even flip phones (triangulation) if pinged while off, you have to take the battery out fully.
This.
Notice the trend of phones being glued shut and batteries being glued to the boards so you need a heat gun and a small surgeon's kit to do anything to your hardware.
>using a flip phone in 2018
>no encryption protections
> no privacy settings,
>no vpn ability
> no passcode protection
Yeah OK, CIA. Thanks but no thanks ill stick to my iphone with VPN and encrypted messaging apps.
Reminder: Apple wouldnt unlock the san bernadino terrorist's iphone for them after they couldnt unlock the phone. THE FBI
The problem is not having a smartphone, the problem is being active on social media, I have social media just enough to add relevant people from work, so I can get contacted, but besides that, a smartphone is so handy, also how will you take pics of your family with a flip phone? You'll start using film cameras again? It's just counter productive
Alternatively if you can't take the battery out, you can put the phone in a Mylar bag and it can't send/receive. The second you open the bag though it will ping and they'll get location data, even if it's not very accurate at first.
>he believes the public show
>he doesn't realize Apple complies with everything behind doors and and all of it was just a PR stunt
I went back to a flip phone for a couple years (have since back to smart phone)
Lots less radiation cancer to your balls that way, those apps are just so convenient though
Right. Faraday cage.
Doesn't that drain your battery if you leave it on? Something about constant ping attempts. So if you really wanna walk around undisturbed you gotta turn your phone off, put it in your pop tart wrapper, and avoid cameras, I GUESS.
Simcards are a RFID chip that will resonate and activate when the correct carrier signal is present. Besides cells almost all of the new credit and debit cards have one too
t.electronics engineer
Flip phones? There is no way anyone will go back to that. Everything was best in the 1990's therefore so is the retro look of the cell phones. Look at how sleek the design looks and you can also use it as a self-defense by clobbering someone over the head with it.
This. You can quite easily be pinpointed anywhere inside a cellular network even without GPS, and the cells cover a smaller area in cities so you can be nailed down with even more precision.
t. man in a coat
This
Great idea.
Styx Hexen Hammer had this idea years ago.
That's about all.
Peace out.
so all sim cards are an RFID chip?
Based Carlos
i trust them more than google but they still have to spy on everything.
Are you literally a retard, OP? They can track you just the same. You shouldn't be on ANY social media at all in the first place, faggot
Alright Jow Forums, it's time to talk about flip phones
It's actually quite funny
*sips coffee*
Mmm
*clank*
That's about all.
Peace out.
>>this dude doesn't know they just asked mossad for the encryption keys
puri.sm
Your welcome.
flip phone crew checking in. who was texting? coworkers text me just fine. have a giggle with me and my alpha-numeric keys, but it's all good.
Where on earth do you live where people still uses sms's? I live in fucking Bolivia and no one I know has used an SMS in ages, it's been so long I've forgotten for a while they even existed.
You still have your carrier to deal with. They track ya.
t. man with a hat
>$600
>for a slow ass phone
I just used fake id for my phone's account and and Gmail account to match it.
I know one guy who never got a smart phone in the first place, stuck with a shitty old flip phone.
>he doesnt have flip phone keypad memorized to be able to type without looking at it
what are you a zoomer?
And that phone spends an awful lot of time at your home address.
t. man with a briefcase
I just pop it in airplane mode and then in this amazon.com
Have a (you), for being 100% on point.
I don't use my smartphone for social media.
In fact, I don't use social media at all, except for business purposes.
they can track you just as easy by your SIM CARD via cell towers and it's just as accurate
I could unironically type faster on my flip phone over my smart phone.
And more accurately.
Fits both my girlfriends and my phone in one bag. Listen to police scanners in your area, it's absurd how much regular cops location ping people.
It will make your life more simple Greg. I havent had a smart phone for over a year.
Benefits
1.Cheaper cell plan
2. More time to lift and eat right
3. More time to educate yourself.
4. Feeling of freedom
5. Unearned moral superiority to all the NPC's who are addicted to their phones.
Try it.. Worst thing that will happen is you won't like it and revert back in a few months.
Make sure you have a GPS :-)
enjoy being tracked you fucking faggot
Pointless you see that debit card you use? Your car? Security cameras. The computer you are using right now. Every single modern thing you do is tracked.
>Use NSA honeypot #1, it's much better than honeypots #2-6
yes, and depending on the model it will denote what frequency it resonates/activates on from low to ultra-high
Turn it off and put it in the bag. Prevents pings from going out while "off"
Fuck off shill, it's paying a huge premium for something you can do on a rooted $150 Moto G4. It's for retards who don't know shit about tech; the Apple of privacy
You guys do realize every Intel (and AMD) CPU has a fucking hardware backend as they are all made in Israel right? Privacy goes much further than just your smartphone
Honestly I started this thread for more of a self improvement aspect. I mentioned government tracking to keep it political.
Good lookin' out. Thanks famalam.
Flip phones can be tracked just as easily. You would need to abandon a cell phone altogether to avoid tracking.
but then i couldn't browse the chans in public to avoid social interaction
what else would i ignore normies with?
Yeah OP good shit also consider ditching your ISP and installing a telegraph in your home so the Jews can't read your emails either.
Thank you. This.
Triangulation of cellphones by cell towers was already easy mode. Getting everyone to sign in to google/apple with a GPS enabled pocket computer with microphone(s) and camera(s) is basically the intelligence communities wet dream.
t. cell site electrical tech
Oy vey, listen goy if you don't have tracking devi... smart phone how will we.. I mean how will your family get a hold of you... sillly goy.
Purism built the phone from the ground up. It doesn’t use qualcomm or intel chipsets and is completely open sourced so if you aren’t a complete brainlet you can check it yourself.
>not supporting a business that’s not interested in selling your personal data for profit.
I hate being that guy but Apples phones are the most secure out there. Apple denies governments a lot that want to inject Trojans on a subjects phone and with every iOS update they become more secure against attacks. I looked into it recently because I got alarmed when I was charged with illegal weapons trading and took my phone to Snoop around.
Either that or build something like the rpiphone or zero phone.
>I hate being that guy but Apples phones are the most secure out there.
you should stop hating yourself by not spreading this falsehood anymore
Fuck it. I am going to go to a tin can and wire phone. Fuck all of you that I trip and tangle up.
I have a prepay phone that costs $10 a month for text and talk. Smartphones are just useless bullshit. I spend all my day on a computer at work, why do I need a smartphone?
Have Both
Switch your phone plan to a Flip Phone
Have the Smartphone always on Airplane mode so it doesnt waste battery life constantly contacting the towers. Use it as a glorified Ipod, use it to get on Wifi.
> get the TextNow app for the Smartphone to send messages and call over wifi
> you dont even have to provide a name for the account, and it could be a fake one if they have added that requirement, its one of the few apps that doesnt require an existing number
That way you've got the phone part covered and you can still send messages. But you do it more heavy duty when you've got wifi access.
> yeah im a Neet, but I make this work. I dont have the flip phone or a phone subscription but that part is the only missing piece there.
That's cute. What happens when you need to access online forms in the field?
>It has been reported that over 97% of smart phone owners use alternative messaging services at least once a day. However, in the U.S. these Internet-based services have not caught on as much, and SMS continues to be highly popular there. One of the reasons is because the top three American carriers have offered free SMS with almost all phone bundles since 2010, a stark contrast to Europe where SMS costs have been pricey.
Nah man. My referb'd S7 comes in the mail tomorrow. Cant wait for that s4 upgrade. Pumped !!!
> in the field
you use your job-issued tablet device
also if you dont have a smartphone with service you just be like - ive only got a flipper because I dont wanna be distracted with social media shit. Which should make you look better anyway due to being more focused on your job.
So they'll be like... uhh well I guess we can hand you the delivery-guy-tier big rubberized tablet dock thingy with the clipboard on it. Or they can say that you'll need to get a working smartphone
> in which case you get a shitty one with the weakest service like that 50$/month pay as you go shit
And thats if you cant get them to just issue you a work-related device, since thats a job related tool.
yeah and most countries have faster internet than the US too
This is where the kind and flavor of technology being used makes a difference, we still have a higher level of technology, these other countries just have a better infrastructure.
> internet speed does not = tech, its just how much of the internet infrastructure is available
> tech is unique shit that is more advanced than what someone else has, it can do things theirs cant.
>I’ve been thinking about ditching my smartphone for an old flip phone. Has anyone else done this?
The entire telecommunication infrastructure is compromised at the deepest hardware levels, all your messages and voice are recorded, there is no escaping it lad - all your information are belong to us.
All cellphones are triangulated for location via signal strength from the towers - this is how they got Pablo Escobar back in the 80s
you are correct. Get the new light phone 2 coming out
>indiegogo.com
fucking smart phone junkies
>All cellphones are triangulated for location via signal strength from the towers
I already got rid of mine. I got a cricket phone last month..
It's called phonefagging you dumbass.
I use a flip phone so that I'm not tempted to check the stock market during the day while I'm working. Also don't like to text so it makes a good excuse. Oh and it's less money per month.
I mean I had a flip phone until 2016 and I was just fine. I was also an anti social loser with a low skill job though so maybe if you need to meet with important people they will wtf at why you know insyant respond to their emails
I just deleted my social media apps. Ain't gotta throw away the utility of smart phones.
>implying the government cant spy on you with a flip phone or any other electronic device that connects to something else
They can track you via flip phone, dumbass.
Only criminals worry about GPS tracking
