What is it that makes people that study medicine believe they are that special? Everyone knows that doctors are on average less smart and intellectually equipped than any STEM student. Heck, I even give more respect to code monkeys than to the average medicine student. Can someone explain me this fascination with the profession? Also, most doctors in real life are greedy scumbags that often do a lousy job.

You need to go through more formal education than a normal person with a non-doctor / non-surgeon job. And you deal with life or death situations and are given authority to call the shots while doing so. That's the crux of it I think, that you go through a lot of extra hassle and get special credentials that tell you it's officially acceptable for you to boss around your patients. You're given the idea your opinions are inherently better than theirs and you're stooping down to take care of people who are lesser than you in knowledge / credentials.

Doctors do work hard for their job, but they are told lies by the manufacturers and their greedy bosses who make deals with those industries for drugs.

They think the "medicine" they are prescribing is helping, ER/specialized surgery is very different from day to day-mild issues like ear infections, fevers, etc. pharma drugs are the third leading cause of deaths in the U.S, this isn't the fault of the patients, it's the doctors prescribing drugs patients don't need or incorrect amounts.

The people are listening to their doctors and dying from it. "medicine" is a scam, most illnesses and health issues can be solved with very simple remedies or just a few days of rest and a healthy diet, as junk food is a HUGE detriment to your health and needs to be fixed before any "medicine" is administered.

The only exception to this is emergency treatment and necessary surgeries which cant be avoided. Our health is becoming worse and worse and our doctors haven't realized it's their fault, we require this ER treatment because of the "medicine" they have been giving us.

Look at Vioxx, people thought it was safe but the science was being suppressed by the industry, they were attacking doctors with internal emails saying "We must destroy doctors who speak against our product", our experts are being lied to because of the industry.

Pharma is one of the largest lobbiests, they sneak their drugs in through the FDA, conflict of interest is everywhere and the doctor you go to has no idea this is happening and blindly follows the community like everyone else.

Doctors used to do their own independent research but this is no longer the case. Medicine is now worthless, unless you require treatment, it is more likely to bring you harm than benefit.
